There's a reason why Starcraft has been around as long as subspace, but why subspace only has 1-100th of it's player base.

I'm listing ways that we can breathe life back into this game and increase player levels by 300% by years end (if this is implemented)

1. First and formost, Advertise:

Only a few hours out of your week and outside of the game, passing out flyers or perhaps wearing a t-shirt with the subspace logo, with a short URL to download the game (the shorter the url the better, easier to remember or write) under the logo itself.

This can be done at a local mall, just walking around window shopping, going to EBgames, arcades, so on.

2. For some of our financialy better off players, burn 50 mini-card CDs with the game on it, ready to install. P!@#$%^&* out one per person. A nice envelope and cd label to pretty up the package will help even more. Set the CD to autostart so instantly run the installer. Again, a public venue such as a mall, arcade or a sidewalk corner advertising the game will get people interested.

3. Word of mouth: Another form of advertisement. This is older than billboards, buses and t-shirts put together. Get someone one into a conversation about video games. "have you ever tried this one game, Subspace?" reply will most likely be no, then fill in with your own experiences.

4. Mobile billboard. You've seen some people drive around with huge logos on their cars, sometimes doing ads for companies, sometimes just something like a large autobot logo? Think BIG subspace logo with an url underneath. While driving around, people will notice.

Someone here has already sone some aussie subspace players group on their college campus, let's see how far we gan get this monkey to swing ladies and gents!

ok I know

2 options:

-send a letter envelooped filled with anthrax to CNN, from 'The Continuum Community'

or

-spread out some huge virus

if we don't get media attention with that... I don't know what will. And that would get us players. Thousands of them.

!@#$%^&* now the FBI is on me

Really...No one is into this game as much to actually go through all that..rofl
I wouldn't doubt if this were true.

Nobody wants to spend money on a free game, like Subspace.

Am I to be shamed to offer money for bot plugins, bot and zone hosting? (If the answer is yes, this either you or the community is ridiculous and a total shame.)

A good idea IMO is to just simply play the game in public. Particularly in school or libraries.

If you're sat in school on a game, people will see it, and want to play it themselves. All sorts of games p!@#$%^&* round my school that way...

For those who are particularly good at acting, go extremely over the top making it look like you enjoy it... Kinda like, shout and scream when you're killing, swear alot, "!@#$%^&* yeah" etc... Oh, and maybe fake an orgasm when you take a base...

!@#$%^&* not been on here for ages...

Hai y'all :(

I believe a lot of people search for games to play online, we should advertise the top site things more and make sure continuum is there for people to see, also sites like gamespot etc.

Another idea I've been working on for a good 19 years now is world domination (not the kinky kind). You see we make warbirds real and with our highly trained, spotty, greasy teenagers who play continuum. We can own the entire earth and put an end to terrorism, War and unjust ways and replace it with continuum. NO MORE useless education system instead continuum, no more tv instead continuum, no more church instead continuum and no more tradiational intercourse. Instead of sex we bring a very complex way of attaching and test tube babies.

Uh, we would have a great deal of difficulty getting a 2D vehicle to function in a 3D universe, and odds are those teenagers will end up crashing into each other when expecting to fly through. Nevermind the number of laws of physics the warbird concept breaks in and of itself.

And why would you want to take over the world anyway? I've run simulations. Sure, its good for the first week, but after that, its a never-ending line of people whining "Grand Emperor, somebody stole my shoes." or "Grand Emperor, my neighbor ate my cat." There are so many people with so many problems who would expect you to solve them. Blah blah blah wah wah wah, that's all world domination really is.

The way I figure, you're just better off letting the world handle its own problems, not taking it over, and playing Continuum. That is until I can get my stash of mind-controlling nanobots into the world's water supply.

Hai y'all :D

99% of schools block the ports continuum need

probably the same for libraries

Either that, or if you get caught playing a game you're kicked out

I know, we should get a Guiness Record for something... like... The Biggest Teamkill ever

we gather up like 300 people in TW

put everyone in levi

put a courageous person in ... emm.. whatever the weakest ship in TW is (weasel?)

put him up against a wall... or even better, have an enemy stand right on him so we can get direct hits from bombs

then

FIRE!!!

I approximate to 1 000 000 the damage our courageous person would suffer

Hopefull that would make him dead.

And not only dead, but the most dead by friendly fire someone has ever been

Here's what we need to do. We need to e-mail Chris Hansen and tell him about Skywize. He'll come and arrest him for being pedo, and in the process, SubSpace will get on Dateline. Instant pop.

Nice idea ani lol.

Idea: Go to your university and make a Continuum Club =/

There were two girls outside Liverpool Street train station, one of them quite attractive and the other black. They were both handing out CDs in plastic pockets. Pretty much everyone was taking them off of them, well the attractive one anyway. So all we need is a model to go around giving Continuum CDs out!

Since the OP referred to me, as the guy with the Uni SS players group.. I better respond. (Though its 2am right now haha...)

While I'm no model, I will be handing out CDs of the game, as well a bit of promotion about SS and the Club out at Uni on Tuesday.

See http://www.arc.unsw.edu.au/docs/Blitz/07_s2_week9/1.pdf , page 12. "Computer Game Giveaway - CONTSOC"..., so it real and I can't back out of it lol. That is our uni's free weekly student magazine, free distributed around uni for anyone to take a copy.

Its going to be a interesting day, wish me luck. smile.gif

I'll post a proper reply to the thread later...maybe.
