I was playing T3G, and I had a certain amount of points and kills/deaths. I then saw that Continuum.40 had come out, and left the zone to download it. I downloaded it, and went back into T3G using Continuum.40. When I came back into the zone, I had lost all of my points and my record. I positively did not ?scorereset it, and a staff member did not reset me (logs checked.)

Anyone know why this happened?

Any answers?

After i installed 4.0 i tried playing redstar zone, only to play for 5 minutes before getting dc'd. Now i cant get back in the zone. After about a minute of looking at the stars screen it says server appears to be down, contact subspacehq.com tech support. Is this related to 4.0 and if not help me anyways smile.gif

Score resets are done regularly (once every two weeks if I'm not mistaken), maybe your timing wasn't very good?

Nope, this was Thursday, the night after the reset, and no one else in the zone got their scorereset (unless they did it themselves.)

@Rootbear, maybe it's the fact they're using some underground 4.0 version rather than 0.40 that they're having problems blum.gif

Can you enter any other zones? Have you tried removing the zone from your list, redownloaded it, then add it again?

@Golani, unfortunately, unless you changed usernames, or the zone changed billers, the client cannot modify scores in-game. All score related issues would be related to the SSC biller, in which out of either defect, or you accidentally ?scoreresetting, or a zone moderator resetting your score (or even full pub score reset), are the only possible reasons about why your score was reset. At this point, we cannot do anything about it, so you'll have to wait it out until the next score reset.

All other zones are fine, even ones that share the same sscc billing. Its just funny that i played the zone for 10 mins then got dc'd, and now cant get back in. Message says server is down, but people are playing so......just trying to figure out what caused it. Tried redownloading zone several times and even tried deleting redstar folder from zones folder. Nadda.

antivirus or some other security program is blocking it

My copy of the game hangs as soon as I try and drop down any of the menus at the top of the application. This was mostly annoying me cos I couldn't change the resolution.

I have got around this problem by clicking the 'profile' button and editing the resolution settings contained in my player profile :(

Sophos still thinks that Cont .40 is a virus. Someone want to email them so they can update their virus signatures?

and whenever i try to open it, it says i am not allowed to open it, and to contact the file owner.

EDIT: I tried sending off a copy of the file, but it wont let me open it so i cant attach it...

My monitor can support up to 1920 x 1200 resolution and I can change to that in windows desktop resolution screen, however, I can not get that resolution to show in continuum. I can use the advanced "show default resolutions" button but that only shows 1920 x 1440 which my monitor can not do. I have tried looking in the profiles and re-installing and it will not show the option for 1920 x 1200 please help!

This hasn't happend until I started running Vista, so it's probably a Vista error with the new administrator permissions settings.

For some reason, I can enter zones and download map files when entering, but when I start to download the lvz, continuum will close and I'll get the unable to open error message. Also in my zones file, there will be nothing other than one or two zones.

Turn off the Default Resolutions. And check it again. There is some things turned on by cont on default now.

Yeah. Your account cannot write to folder/write over the current files. Someone else "Owns" those files, so just delete them and it'll download fine. That or try fixing their permissions to you.

Do you have spyware or a anti-virus? Make sure Continuum is oked on them. Seems .38 had to be added to some anti-virus sites previously, and I've found a few more since the new release that block it. But this is slowly being fixed, although people have to download a new virus update for it sadly.

Check this:

Windows XP Data Execution Protection

Open up DEP and see if you have 'Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only', if so, check 'Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select'. Next add Continuum.exe to the list, and apply. Than you can go back to 'Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only' if you'd like, and it will load fine.

Was a lot about it earlier in this thread/in other threads in this forum. Please read and try our ideas before posting as you might find resolution sooner. Thanks.

It's not that it can't overwrite, it's that it can't actually create the files. There's no files to overwrite.

ya, it actually creates the files, BUT

it puts them in some odd place like an AppData folder in ur User folder or something let me see exactly where it put it until i changed all of my permissions

(stupid UAE or w/e)

edit: should be in this folder somwhere. its not in mine anymore, becuase i changed the permissions

C:\Users\\Application Data

it is a hidden folder.

UAC

Disable; or suffer.

I strongly recommend disable, unless you prefer badly made security over being able to use a miriad of other programs properly, including Continuum.

Rootbear's original thread that was stickied got whiped out, because it was deemed useless once 0.40 came out (and because mods are too stupid to unsticky a sticky). It basically said to right click on the file or folder, select "properties", and move over to the "Security" tab. Change your settings through that.

My original post, with full explanation about displacement of files, folders, permissions and UAC:

http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?s=&sh...st&p=183306

I'm not suggesting this is related to Maurauth's problem though, which is most likely related to a conflict in file-folder permissions. Still, might be of interest to attempt disabling the UAC and try redownloading.
