Tak300 Posted September 5, 2007 Report Posted September 5, 2007 Hi Guys Can anyone tell me if it is possible to use the sound effects from SubSpace/Continuum in a non-profit project? A college project for example, is it legal? Are the sounds "still" copyrighted? And what about the images? Thanks guys
Hoch Posted September 5, 2007 Report Posted September 5, 2007 Most of the sounds used are copies or excerpts from othersources So I would not be too concerned about usingthem in some other setting. As far as the legality of doing so, as I have stated manytimes in previous posts, you should not concern yourselftoo much with using sounds and/or images. Yes, certainlegal rights are attached to them, and yes inappropriateuse can incur some form of legal liability against an un-authorised user. However, and this is more of a big 'but',those with a legitimate legal interest in these things wouldhave an onerous task to enforce their legal rights. In other words, they would actually have to do somethingto stop you (or anyone else for that matter) from usingthese things. Personally, I do not see that happening but itis always a possibility (just a very long shot ). -Hoch
