Samapico Posted September 8, 2007 Report Posted September 8, 2007 7:ThunderJam> question7:ThunderJam> is the file archive place that aqua set up7:ThunderJam> is that supposed to be just for our references7:ThunderJam> or is it supposed to be for public to view also? Good question, I'd think the public would be allowed use the files. Though we should add an announcment or something that says these files are free to use, as long as proper credit is givenDefinition of proper credit, anyone? Perhaps provide some kind of standard for that Quote
»CypherJF Posted September 8, 2007 Report Posted September 8, 2007 Should make use of a Creative Commons license. Quote
ThunderJam Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 Oh my god, I just posted a ton of stuff and its NOT for public use. Once this topic in the un-password-protected board, i was like "crap" Quote
Samapico Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 well, we could have a private section, I guessI added one, just to test But I'm guessing the file archives can be accessed by anyone because anyone can register...Though the Private archives forum should only be accessible by SSDev and Admin members Quote
Smong Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 http://ssgfx.sshq.net looks like it's open to the public. Quote
ThunderJam Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 This user was not pre-registered or the allowed time span of 24 hours expired! I did it like 2 minutes after I registered.Had the same problem, the link the email gave me was incorrect, What you need to do is where there is a semicolon after the word activate, change it to a colon (might be other way around, cant remember). Samapico Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 So... what should we do with that file archive forum and its privateness? Should we: a)-Allow anyone to view/download files (including guests)-Keep a 'Private archive' forum where only registered SSDev members can go b )-Allow registered users (non-SSDev) to view/download files-Keep a 'Private archive' forum where only registered SSDev members can go c)-Only allow SSDev members to register and post any files, including those that are not for public use d)-Allow anyone to register, and not post any 'private' files Current situation is b ) I think Quote
