Russky Posted August 19, 2007 Report Posted August 19, 2007 Would it be possible to release a text file of all the names/squadnames that are taken already? Or would that be a bad idea?
»Maverick Posted August 19, 2007 Report Posted August 19, 2007 Nobody here is able to give you that since almost nobody has such access to the SSC biller and the few that have probably won't do it because it takes too much time and it will be a bad idea.
Mackieman Posted August 21, 2007 Report Posted August 21, 2007 There are well over 45,000 unique usernames in the database last time I heard, which was a couple of years ago. I'm sure it has grown a bit since then. It would take a lot of time and it would be a bad idea; all the name ASSS would come out in force to !@#$%^&* up absolutely meaningless usernames and then !@#$%^&* and moan about people stealing their accounts when they forget the passwords. I, for one, would rather not.
Russky Posted August 21, 2007 Author Report Posted August 21, 2007 =[ On the other hand, 45'000? !@#$%^&*! How many names per person on average is that?
Mackieman Posted August 21, 2007 Report Posted August 21, 2007 How many names per person on average is that? Don't know for sure. You also have to remember that this database has been in place since 1998. Lots of folks have passed through the game since then. Back in those days it was not uncommon to have 30,000+ unique logins in any given month.
Dav Posted August 21, 2007 Report Posted August 21, 2007 =[ On the other hand, 45'000? !@#$%^&*! How many names per person on average is that? probably a few, too many players find it necessary to have a few hundred aliases.
