Hakaku Posted August 11, 2007 Report Posted August 11, 2007 lol, be impressed now while you can, soon enough you'll start to realize Vista really is only eye candy. And while being safer, it's at the risk of having many things not work.
CRe Posted August 11, 2007 Report Posted August 11, 2007 First few days I got Vista I thought it was nice. Now I hate it.
Hakaku Posted August 12, 2007 Report Posted August 12, 2007 Yeah, I went through 2 days of !@#$%^&* after I updated to Vista, because the upgrade came full of bugs. (the most notorious one was a bug that cause explorer.exe to crash almost all the time - luckily though, Vista doesn't entirely crash)There's quite a few things that still don't work, and I hate how it doesn't remember my folder view (despite what MS says, it honestly doesn't). There's no "up" button which also pisses me off, and Paint saves default .jpg image, so if you're not paying attention, you lost all your quality.Another bug I've run into is the language bar doesn't dock in taskbar when you first load your computer, instead it loads twice (one docked, one not). I could rant about a million other things, but I can't complain entirely. I like eye candy, I love the language support, security (though I disabled those crap warning messages - 7 windows to delete a single file? re!@#$%^&*ed.), and a few other things. I would never recommend it though, unless you don't plan to use it for major work.
rootbear75 Posted August 12, 2007 Author Report Posted August 12, 2007 hey, its what the school was offering, and it was a good deal... i prefer XP over vista anyday
Dav Posted August 12, 2007 Report Posted August 12, 2007 Im wondering how much better vista will be after SP1. Im waiting for the 4 x 3ghz chips to come down before i buy a new PC
Russky Posted August 12, 2007 Report Posted August 12, 2007 Too good for my computer its minimum requirement already needs so much memory and I don't have that. It is good in some cases, but the tons of bugs sometimes bother me.
Dav Posted August 13, 2007 Report Posted August 13, 2007 Dont leave it on 24/7, it breaks laptops quite easily doing that...
