Drake7707 Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 So yeah, by working most of the days a week and severly limiting my free time i thought i'd have actually stuff to do .... guess not. I can't seem to find anything useful to do :/ . It seems such a waste to spend free time on something like 'browsing on some sites' or anything. Considering that i had 6 months of free time because i dropped out of college makes me wonder what i actually do on a day that's at least a bit 'constructive' or 'enjoyable'. What are you guys doing when you have a day off or have some hours of free time ? Any suggestions ? I guess the ppl with gfs/bfs use time to spend time with her/him, or others enjoy spending time at a bar or something, but i don't have a gf and i hate bars (or anything where alcohol is involved for that matter). So yeah...bored atm and wasting time.. ironic
»1587200 Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 I'm actually on vacation this week, so I've been working on my various websites, download movies, audio books, music, cleaned, put new strings on my guitars, polished them, oiled the woodwork on them, visited some friends, goin to a movie tonight, called the parental unit, probably gonna do some yard work tomorrow, see my friend's band play (at a bar), go to a wedding this weekend, possibly start plans to buy a house, read...pretty much anything I can do to keep myself busy I've done.
Hakaku Posted August 10, 2007 Report Posted August 10, 2007 Couch potato time! Ok I lied. Part-time job and lots of biking to get there n back.
Drake7707 Posted August 10, 2007 Author Report Posted August 10, 2007 Go back to college? Yup, but it starts at september 24th
»Maverick Posted August 10, 2007 Report Posted August 10, 2007 I usually work on all the projects I have running. You know, staffing in a zone is also a great way to spend (or waste) your time
Dav Posted August 10, 2007 Report Posted August 10, 2007 I usually work on all the projects I have running. You know, staffing in a zone is also a great way to spend (or waste) your time Probably the latter but still great
Samapico Posted August 10, 2007 Report Posted August 10, 2007 I waste my free time on the internet as well... And I just downloaded Heroes of Might and Magic V, Supreme Commander, and Warcraft III... heh.Supreme Commander is pretty cool... Though, even if there are 3 factions, the units and buildings are the same for all, except different names and graphics... So it kind of lacks in diversity... But it's a good RTS; zooming in and out is fun But it's not very constructive either way... Going back in my dad's house for a week or two, hopefully I'll do some interesting stuff. I'm used to my dual core computer now, so I don't risk spending much time on that Pentium 3 he has. My bicycle needs a new rear wheel (someone stole it... bleh), then I'll probably bike some to get in shape. Bleh... living just beside university, I haven't done much exercise this summer
»Maverick Posted August 10, 2007 Report Posted August 10, 2007 You don't have to do anything constructive to spend your free time If you got a job then you're already quite constructive during the day. I have evenings I don't do anything but I have a good time nonetheless
Drake7707 Posted August 10, 2007 Author Report Posted August 10, 2007 You don't have to do anything constructive to spend your free time If you got a job then you're already quite constructive during the day. I have evenings I don't do anything but I have a good time nonetheless Yeah but it feels so wasteful like i'm going to regret it the next day at work like "!@#$%^&* i could have done that etc"
Samapico Posted August 10, 2007 Report Posted August 10, 2007 Yeah that's how I feel too after a day of '!@#$%^&* I didn't do anything', especially when I 'wanted' to get stuff done
Greased_Lightning Posted August 10, 2007 Report Posted August 10, 2007 chainsaw some dead trees, shoot trap, build a ship in a bottle, make your own fireworks, take in a movie, clean your home, raft down the Mississippi with N-word Jim
Kir Posted August 11, 2007 Report Posted August 11, 2007 I finished school mid June, and I don't start college until mid September so I've had/still have a lot of free time recently. Before Wednesday (this week) I hadn't done anything constructive (that's almost 2 months of jack !@#$%^&* ). Recently however, I've decided to spend some of my time a little more constructively. Something I had always wanted to do was learn HTML, and when I found a book called "Learn HTML in a Weekend" I couldn't p!@#$%^&* up the opportunity. So over the past 2 days I've been reading that book; I'm only half way through it, and I already know enough to make this (which I think is fairly impressive considering it's my first ever website). Similarly I've found books on C++ and Java coding which I plan to read shortly (not only do I want to know this stuff, it will also give me a head start at my computing course at college). Other things I've done include: going to gigs, going to the cinema, visiting relatives, going out for meals. Also, I got a puppy (liver roan !@#$%^&*er spaniel) last Saturday, so I've been looking after her.

Falcoknight Posted August 11, 2007 Report Posted August 11, 2007 Time wasted having fun is not time wasted at all.
sHad0ws Posted August 11, 2007 Report Posted August 11, 2007 i like to waste my free time fixing up my car
RedWaller Posted August 13, 2007 Report Posted August 13, 2007 Holy !@#$%^&* it seems nobody has discovered friends yet.
Drake7707 Posted August 13, 2007 Author Report Posted August 13, 2007 Holy !@#$%^&* it seems nobody has discovered friends yet. well yeah, but one is also doing a holiday job, and most of the time when i'm free he has to work, and the other lives a bit too far away to hang out somewhere (40km is a lot here you know)
Dav Posted August 13, 2007 Report Posted August 13, 2007 Could always help code dissersion (however you spell it)
