Drake7707 Posted July 28, 2007 Report Posted July 28, 2007 I'd post this in the creativity forum but it no longer exists ? Anyway, i've made a new program that's able to draw fractals: Mandelbrot, Burning ship and Multibrot ^3 You can zoom in by holding shift and drawing a rectangle with the mouse (like a selection), and zoom out by right clicking and holding shift. Fractals are mathematical functions and have infinite details and have some weird shapes sometimes (look at the screenshot ) It's pretty cool overall (i've also added antialiasing by supersampling to have some sweet gfx ^^) Edit: oh !@#$%^&*, just saw "Media Development" ..srr.. move plzPlotFractals.zip
JDS Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 i would never find that interesting lol, props to you tho
Drake7707 Posted August 15, 2007 Author Report Posted August 15, 2007 neat thing i found when i altered the formula a bit edit: ugh attachments still won't upload http://www.drake7707.freeweb7.com/images/ummm.png
rootbear75 Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 patterns that go on infinitely Sierpinski's Triangle is a good examplehttp://eldar.mathstat.uoguelph.ca/dashlock/ftax/Gallery/Siepinski1D960.gif
Drake7707 Posted August 15, 2007 Author Report Posted August 15, 2007 not really, its more like when you hold a mirror in front of a mirror, you get an infinite tunnel. The same with fractals, it's a mathematical function - which has infinite precision - but there is stuff like semi random strings clogged together and self references if you zoom in Btw i've uploaded it somewhere else, seems the host doesn't allow hotlinking http://dcme.sscentral.com/images/ummm.png
Russky Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 ooooohplayboy bunny! Yeh, I know that picture is sexy, want a sig out of that! But drake seriously work on DCME
Drake7707 Posted August 16, 2007 Author Report Posted August 16, 2007 ooooohplayboy bunny! lol really ? i thought it was cool because it looked like a radish (i rotated the image a bit though, and it isn't included in the above attachment)
Telson Posted August 21, 2007 Report Posted August 21, 2007 hmm, ill have to check out it.. I sometime use these fractal programs in graphics design. Makes awesome looking desktop wallpapers, when u mix it with photoshop too...
