X`terrania Posted August 2, 2007 Report Posted August 2, 2007 Why is Ori so negative? Isn't he from like the Middle-East or something? Anyways, root, don't get a .us website, get .com or .net.
Dav Posted August 2, 2007 Report Posted August 2, 2007 no, i asked if you wanted me toono one answeredEDIT: BTW, it looks as if the domain expires on the 15thRecord expires on: 2007-08-15 UTCEDIT: Sign my pe!@#$%^&*ion: http://www.pe!@#$%^&*iononlin...^&*ion.htmlim going to send a link for it once i get some signatures.EDIT: Sent an email. To Mr. Milagros:We have found that the webiste http://www.subspacehq.com/ was bought up by your company WebManagement SA. The Subspace Community would like the website back since it was the main central site for the game Subspace/Continuum. If there is some way you could transfer this one site over to us' date=' we would be extremely grateful.I will be away for the rest of the week' date=' but I do hope to hear back from you.Sincerely,Josh Brahms, and the Subspace/Continuum Community[/quote'']Might be worth telling them we are a player based community reliant on donations. They may be more generous if they know that we wont be taking their site and cashing in from it.
AhmedF Posted August 3, 2007 Report Posted August 3, 2007 Everyone should just relax. What he's really doing here is a favor for us. Anyone with any sense is going to look at his obvious negativity towards continuum/subspace on subspace.net and in turn check out continuum. All the people with little sense will just take the words there as gold and check out galaticmelee. It's a win win situation for us, free advertising and more importantly, we'll be getting people with higher intelligence whereas they'll be getting all the sheep. Looool. Right - that is how the interweb works. As for asking subspacehq - sigh dont even try. He has no care for you. Domaining pure and simple, they dont care about you.
»doc flabby Posted August 3, 2007 Report Posted August 3, 2007 neither of these domains really matter, i can already fix all the links to it inside continuum, its not hard to email websites and ask them to update links when we come accross borked ones.
NBVegita Posted August 3, 2007 Report Posted August 3, 2007 It is a mute point. They are not willing to sell SSHQ to any person(s) or business(s) at this time.
Hakaku Posted August 4, 2007 Report Posted August 4, 2007 neither of these domains really matter, i can already fix all the links to it inside continuum, its not hard to email websites and ask them to update links when we come accross borked ones. Can you fix links inside the SSC biller too? Last I checked, some error messages tell players to visit subspace.net .
rootbear75 Posted August 4, 2007 Report Posted August 4, 2007 hey, it was worth a shot. if you feel like you can do a better job, go right ahead...
rootbear75 Posted August 7, 2007 Report Posted August 7, 2007 Update on the email:I have received no email back from them. and x'terrania, putting John Doe on the pe!@#$%^&*ion isn't going to help and i need more than 4 signatures... tell people in game about this.
Gravitron Posted August 11, 2007 Report Posted August 11, 2007 It is a mute point. They are not willing to sell SSHQ to any person(s) or business(s) at this time.Moot.*
»doc flabby Posted August 11, 2007 Report Posted August 11, 2007 easy to get everyone to update the links. domains arn't important. subspacehq has already been dropped from google.
Russky Posted August 11, 2007 Report Posted August 11, 2007 I don't blame him, but for your statement there are lots of meatheads in this game for that I agree, but I would also like to say that my ignore list was full of them, so you should have made good use of this important function. But don't bother to destroy subspace to make your game because it will never allow you to make money.
Hakaku Posted August 12, 2007 Report Posted August 12, 2007 Fact: It's not Ahmed's game, it's Rak'kars.Ahmed owns the domain, and can technically do anything he wants with the domain. And at its present state, I doubt he's making money off subspace.net
rootbear75 Posted August 12, 2007 Report Posted August 12, 2007 i would love to be able to ignore people, but im not allowed to
Russky Posted August 12, 2007 Report Posted August 12, 2007 i would love to be able to ignore people, but im not allowed to Same I used to, but I do not think links matter altogether so much. When I was looking for subspace I could not find it, and eventually I googled it and it came up on 'subspacedownloads' so I guess there is still a back up. And since people are running a lot of sites on their own such as forums and zone sites it will add to it.
Dav Posted August 13, 2007 Report Posted August 13, 2007 AhmedF there is something a bit selfish about this IMO. You may have a grievance against the community and believe yourself that this game is dead but many people do not share your opinions. If you no longer wish to be a part of this game.. FineIf you want to spead your poinions throughout the community.. Fine But taking a central community website ans turing it into a a way to assist the downfall of this game to suit your views is a tad too far IMO. If you clearly want nothing more to do with this game then why not give the domain to someone who does care about this game? By doing this you only take away the joy of this game from the rest of us and divert anyone away that finds that website, hardy fair to the rest of us.
»doc flabby Posted August 13, 2007 Report Posted August 13, 2007 I don't have a problem with what hes done on subspace.net. Its his domain he can do what he wants. Imo its a bit foolish however, In the end it harms GM more than subspace. GM is looking for beta testers and increased pop. Antagonising a good source of testers doesn't help anyone.
SeVeR Posted August 19, 2007 Report Posted August 19, 2007 "SubSpace - Not Worth itI've played SubSpace for over 10 years. From back in the VIE days, through the golden age of 1.25, to Peasant's Paladin breaking the news VIE was shutting down the servers.I played through Baudchaser's original servers - GAMES.NO, through his new set on iNet, and then when they all merged into SSC.I was a Senior SMOD in Warzone, helping newbies play. I helped host Premier League events, websites, and even paid for jackpots for the winners. Heck I paid good money for this domain. The game will always be SubSpace to me - Continuum is nothing more than a client. But the game is stale. It hasn't been updated in years. The graphics were introduced over 10 years ago. Everything has a shelf-life, and Subspace has reach the end of its.An old player of SubSpace has gone ahead and built a much better game, based on the same physics. It is called Galactic Melee. It is fresh. It is exciting. And it pushes the genre forward - a push that was much needed. And so person-who-has-raid-this-mini-essay - Subspace has been dying for a while now. It is time to try something new. Something fun." ...And here is the `spoilt nerd' to `regular subspace player' translation: "Here is my life history, it's a sad history of spending too much time playing a 2D spaceship game, but without which i would not have the sense of self-importance that i feel with subspace. As a result it is my duty to tell you all that subspace is dead so stop playing now, especially now that i have officially told you in my capacity as grand-!@#$%^&*!@#$%^&* that it is time to stop. !@#$%^&* all the hundreds of people who still play, and all the noobies who are still joining the community. I've decided it's dead because i'm so important. Say !@#$%^&*o to my new lover, i mean `game', because i am so emotionally jolted that i want my infantile, and quite frankly sad, affections to be known to you all. I've loved and lost, and i've found love again. Adios all and good riddance *wipes away tears*.Regards, Pathetic Nerd with Emotional Problems"
