Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 When you zoom out all the way and have that 'hand' tool open with gridlines off, you can move the map around by a pixel or two and the border lines will be duplicated or something.Could you make the map-tab bar a bit bigger in height and either allow users to move it to different locations on the interface or just move it above the map (like a Firefox layout)? Kinda got pesky about constantly and accidentally clicking on the scroll bar and messing me up. I found a few good uses for tabs in this. Quote

Some tiles near the edges from the selection are another tile? About the transparency-when-moving feature for LVZ: what I meant wasn't for "when moving," but simply to toggle global LVZ transparency on or off in DCME. What if I want to see beneath a graphic object that I want to move another graphic object under? L.C. Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 (edited) Would be nice if I could duplicate walltiles in the Walltile editor to speed up the job of different versions of the same walltiles. EDIT :: Reminds me. When a walltile is selected, there should be an option that can be toggled. The default is when DCME will try to detect the same tiles in the walltiles selected and properly match those up with and as walltiles. When it is turned off (toggled), it should care less. Up will always be Up, Down always Down...instead of [up being Tile59, Down being Tile121] for WalltilesetA. Only has a sense of direction rather than sense of Tiles. Edited July 20, 2007 by L.C. Hakaku Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 (edited) I couldn't recreate everything LC found, but some of it (such as copy-paste in the tileedit menu)I did notice however, when you import a source image in the tileset editor, and copy it unto your tileset, then once you try to move that piece somewhere else, it goes completely blank. (in other words, drag a part of the source image unto the tileset, and drag that part once again somewhere else on the tileset it goes blank.). It doesn't bother me, but it would be nice if I could use ctrl+z. I also noticed the thing with the larger special tiles such as wormhole, they're resized to a 16x16 tile. But when you draw a line, they're 32x32. It's pretty useful when trying to do some nifty tricks with the tiles, but not always useful. The only other weird problem !@#$%^&*ociated with 16x16 tiles, is when you set it to ignore special tiles; add one (e.g. wormhole), then place other tiles around it, but then place a tile (or erase) on the special tile, all the surrounding tiles are also erased. Regularly copied one portion from BaseA, which is has some parts that are the same as BaseB. Pasted it (not deselected) and selected the mode to replace tiles only (rather than the whole selected area), gently moved it over and matched this part up with BaseB, and deselected. First time I ever recall seeing a situation in any program (including DCME) where a selection could matter nonetheless when using the bucket tool. This is my theory: when I first let go of my click for the corner and immediately click again, the CPU lagged and didn't have enough time to realize that I clicked in the same location I let go of my first click in. Get it? So then the "first click," "Point A," or the starting point of my line never changed from the original one where I began drawing these two lines. Other conditions are that I had also been using only one Walltile in my walltileset. It was as simple as it could get when it came to selected the tiles from the tileset and moving them into WallsetA (the first slot, upper left hand corner). First time I ever recall seeing a situation in any program (including DCME) where a selection could matter nonetheless when using the bucket tool. Doesn't Photoshop ignore RGB differences when you have something selected? i wouldn't know, i only used photoshop once and i hated it ... very much. I always use paint shop pro and there it selects like DCME does (well there is an option 'match mode' where you can select how it has to fill stuff, which is unrelated to selection, selection only limits the borders where it can fill) Open DCME. That's also another way I got the same Run-time error of '9.' yeah, i know, i've added this to the known bugs list, yet, im still clueless where that error could occur :/ (this smells like a problem that occurs when you don't do enough synchronizing between the processes because selecting 2 files fires up 2 dcme's instead of 1 dcme with seperate parameters :/ Quote

I used to use JASC Paint Shop Pro before and hated Photoshop because "it was too confusing and too hard." I did make numerous attempts throughout years to learn to like Photoshop, and after a while I did learn to like Photoshop. It really isn't too hard, infact is better and more powerful than PSP. I rarily meet anyone actually that even uses PSP to be honest. :S Quote

Pasted it (not deselected) and selected the mode to replace tiles only (rather than the whole selected area), gently moved it over and matched this part up with BaseB, and deselected. yeah i found it now, whoops, i forgot to add a check when i rewrote it to speed it up last version Quote
