JDS Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 Um, you may already know this and i just didnt read it somewhere but. Is overall rank, IE: dav1 is rank 1 right now, and he had 10000 weapons, and 10000 defence items : dav 1 wanted more defence so he sold 10000 weapons and bought 10000 defence items he wouldnt lose a rank right, even tho his attack rank would be 0 SO: is overall rank determined by the amount of money you spend in the armory or the indevidual ranks
Falcoknight Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 Overall rank is determined by the average of your ranks, not how much money you spend. In your situation Dav would fall from number one, because while his defense rank would still be high (Even though I just took number one defense ^^) his average would be higher, causing him to be a higher rank. Obviously you don't need an average of 1 (Which would mean youre number one in all ranks) but you do need high ranking score for all stats. For example when I was number one I was ranked 2, 1, 2 and 1, which averaged out to 1.5, and later was 4,3,2,1, which averaged out to 2.5. At both points I was number one because my average rank was lower than anyone elses.
JDS Posted July 18, 2007 Author Report Posted July 18, 2007 well take me for an example, low rank defence while high rank attack ( big diffrence) and yet i failed to fall in rank
Dav Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 I sold most of my atk to keep a low rank and dropped to 4th. Went up to 3rd overnight then rebuilt my atk over 2 days and returned to 1st. In your case the difference would be larger to the next rank then it is at the top so you need to gain or lose a few to move up/down. It is done by your ranks in everything, I would like to know more about how the tie break system works though.
Aileron Posted July 18, 2007 Report Posted July 18, 2007 I think the tie break system is based upon how big your lead is. Supposing you had a 1 2 1 2 player and a 2 1 2 1 player. Suppose also for simplicities sake that player 1's spy was equal to player 2's sentry and vice versa. The tie would be determined by whether which ratio is higher: player 1's offense over the sum total of everyone's offense vs. player 2's defense over the sum total of everyone's defense. In short, ties are determined so that whoever's winning their catagories by the biggest degree wins the tie. Actually I remember being in 1st with subcatagories in the 4th-7th place range.
