Tiq Posted August 10, 2007 Report Posted August 10, 2007 Perception or not, reasonable folk would be able to recognize good and evil if they were presented with the facts. The German people were blinded by the Nazi propaganda, and those that WERE aware of what was going on in the camps were in denial. Hitler was only an example that evil exists.
AstroProdigy Posted August 10, 2007 Report Posted August 10, 2007 People are always "blinded" when they support m!@#$%^&* genocides, etc. The point is evil is a relative thing. Back in ancient times when you exterminated a tribe of "barbarians" you were a hero. Christianity did nothing to change it. Only better education changed things and that is more a matter of common sense than a belief in absolute evil. Therefore, it's all a matter of opinion.
Tiq Posted August 11, 2007 Report Posted August 11, 2007 Therefore, it's all a matter of opinion. Isn't that always the case in this forum?
JDS Posted September 18, 2007 Report Posted September 18, 2007 our morals of good an evil evolve along side us as we evolve if we think back.. -there was a time when it was 'ok' to go into a community and raid the !@#$%^&* out of it kill babies, stab women, be-head men, (THIS WAS SOCIALY ACCEPTABLE ) i supose in 1930 -1945 killing jews was ok.. (aparently its pretty bad nowaday) a good example of this is to look in a high defence prison where cellmates are known to stab / cut/ rape/ slash / beat/ call mean names and this is accepted as norm. why? because of the people in that situation its all reletive to area and time when you talk about good and evil; in my town + my time it is common to know that killing is 'bad' and that you shouldn't do it because its 'evil' but yet in the 'wild west' whenever that was.. people called other people out on draws all the time because killing was a manly thing to do evil and good exist as concepts that evolve with time kbai
