Abuse of the Port/nuke bug

Ok I am just wondering why it's legal to do this. The rules clearly state "No exploitation of lag, server glitches or client glitches." Port/nuke breaks those rules if I read it correctly. If you don't know what I am talking about it is when you drop a port, shoot, then use your port and shoot again, which by doing so gives you no delay on your bomb, which is exploiting a glitch. So shouldn't the mods fine/ban if they catch them doing this? Edited July 10, 2007 by Afroman

Yes, they should, but it's extremely hard to catch. ?cheater reports are also unreliable, as people occasionally report things that didn't happen hoping to get someone in trouble.

Does it really matter all that much? At most, it means someone will fire two or three shots in quick succession per life -- which, considering the cost of a tacnuke -- leaves the shooter with literally no energy to defend. The only people who will really utilize this are Aoi and the other !@#$%^&*es on GW who like to safe lame.

 

I agree with it's exploiting a bug, but it's more or less using a portal offensively rather than defensively. It's not unlimited use, and it doesn't grant godlike powers. I'm willing to bet that more often than not, it'll end up getting the shooter killed.

 

 

Also:

Afro, it's generally a bad idea to post an exploit in a place where the general public will see it before the people you're trying to contact. Further, you posted instructions on how to go about exploiting the very bug you're complaining about which is only going to give more people the ability to perform it. Not a smart decision.
