I think that sell prices should be increased, or at least have that "practice arena" ppl have been suggesting. i mean, i've lost about.... idk like 60k+ trying out items for different ships and not liking them.

 

If we were to have a practice arena(s), these things should be implemented (if possible) to limit abuse:

-small size limit (like 5 ppl)

--on that^ rule, make multiple practice arenas like practice1, practice2, etc

-no !@#$%^&*ociation with the pub (start from scratch)

-dont save anything upon leaving arena (or maybe even upon switching ships)

-time limit to be in arena

-0 buy/sell price on everything (except perhaps items like ball & chain that ppl would come to the arena just so they could use it)

-might as well not have money in the arena since there would be no point in having it

 

EDIT: sell prices should AT LEAST be increased for things like jump drives (50% sell price, u probably would never earn the 25k back using the item before selling it) and ... other things

 

IMO all sell prices should be 90%.

I'm very confused about what you're talking about here. You seem to be whining that sell prices are too high, but asking me to fix it by raising them.

 

I'm not interested in creating a practice arena.

I think james just wants to get a feel for an item before actually buying it or something like that cause I guess looking at only numbers doesnt work for some ppl.

 

Maybe Brain can make a replica of most perm items that instead of being perm, you can only use it until death? Where you buy it for a smaller amount to test it.

Yes for everything else you said, but

this would probably just end up as

1)the same as the annoying sell prices (unless it was a really low price that was less than the difference between buy/sell)

2)ppl would buy it for a low price before they could afford the real thing, then stay alive for a long time. it would have to be a time limit.

 

hence having a better sell price.

maybe if there could be like a decreasing sell price as you use it so dr brain wouldnt worry about ppl "getting their use out of it" then selling it or whatever.

 

but that would take a while to make.

Most sell prices should be about 40-60% I think. Use ?iteminfo and figure it out before hand, and if you're too lazy to think how it's going to be different from what you already have, too bad, it cost a little bit extra to try it out.
