Stoked Posted June 27, 2007 Report Posted June 27, 2007 weaken the reps.. seriously people just go in base rep 3 times and then reship, repeat, ect. also, possibly lower the private freq size (maybe to 6?) so its not always the same people on gundamwing owning the same newbs everyday. the teams would be split up a bit more. i think this would make it more fair to pub and make it a little more fun/interesting for private flaggers. I was very glad when shark burst was nerfed, still waiting on the lanc burst nerf, but MOST importantly reps really need to be weakened, by either lowering the radius and/or reducing the strength of it (I would prefer both happening so it is something that is used to protect your ship from incoming weapons, rather than to play pinball with the enemy lanc.) And I do also agree with lowering the private freq size. I would hope that might help more pubbies get into flagging games (and the rep nerf would help them actually be able to make a difference in them,) and help basing in general. Quote

Well, most people have 2 Reps which can rep 2 Thors, if you noticed before, in most cases thors are useless because of repels. Quote

Very carefully... haha, the defenders need something to defend with, the attackers just have to bust out their rusher ships. Even if reps WERE smaller sized, 3 reps at once can get past most bomblines, and you should try to not touch the bombline anyways by flying beside it instead of into it. The reps are hated by many, in the old 3 people could break up a bombline just by repping through the wall that was at least 10 tiles away... all that basing seems to be is repels. Rushing is really hard, since you get through a bombline, get repped, go through more, get repped, go through more, get repped, and if it's a lanc, another rep. Ya, the 4 Lanc Repels are really starting to remind me of lancrushing. I think, IMO, that repel size should be cut in half, and then repel strength should be doubled. Quote

They aren't even too strong at the moment, doubling their strength won't be too useful if you have to get up closer than before to do it. Quote

Boldot Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 One of the problems with repels being the strength that they are (and why they should be LESS powerful) is that you rep once, and all of the enemy bullets and bursts get concentrated, and bounce around FASTER than they did before. If you only change one thing on reps, it should be to lower the strength of them rather than the size (I am a big fan of reducing both.) Quote

Most of the time ppl rep, they usually die cause they concentrate the shraps that comes out of the bombs which ends up killing them. Quote

During peak hours of the day, this will definitely promote more compe!@#$%^&*ive flagging. Veterans can still have fun playing together during other times when the public freqs don't have so many people. Quote

Evil Doom Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 i totally agree with stoked... smaller reps that just stop bullets from hitting you would be great... that was no1 can rly rep lame... ... and i dont rly care about team size... cuz right now i always see 3 teeam.. 1 defend, 1 attack, 1 flank ... where defenders have to deal with item whoring attackers... and attackers have to deal with annoying flankers... so ide say make teams bigger or leave it the same... this could also make turreting lamer... so if lancs had a limit to how many ppl can attach at one time... it'll fix tat issue Quote

You can only go beyond 8 to 10 if ur freq is on 0/1 AND both needs to have 8 players which doesnt usually happen often. Quote

I think this would help more pubbies get in on some basing action. Quote
