Well we are planning to put some life in the old lady (17th,and yes she is a girl) and the heart massage will be a small league. Big question is which one should it be? We hope alot will give their opinion and when the day arrives come have some fun aswell..or else girl_devil.gif

2v2, non-squad based, i think we drew up the rules for this a while ago. Maybe we could put it on the league.nu site, people still seem to go there for leagues afterall.

Having been inside 17th parallel for 7 years, i'm glad she's a lady and not a dude.

-EDIT- Ah WTH am i posting for, i can't even play in it!

You need to be more specific when you say "non-squad based".

When we used to say "non-squad based" it was as in not the regular squads, but still fixed teams.. I'm !@#$%^&*uming that's what you mean now too..

Since there are no regular squads now anyways, saying "non-squad based" is silly ;P

What then? Flexible teams that anyone can join? ;P It's still squad (fixed teams) based.

I think the next league should be different, as in not jav-only, or something new like Sockey.

by non-squad based it means exactly that.

You do not have to be in a squad, or the same squad to play the league.

Example, Xorx and I could RRL together.

But you need to still have a roster, you can't have completely interchangable teams, otherwise that defeats the point of a league.

The only difference is that the squads would obviously be smaller.

And it seems more people are interested in a multiship game than a jav-only one :| From what I've seen in the zone that is..

Either way, it'll still pwnzor!

To me, non-squad based also means that the league does not require squad captains. Basicly, staff take more responsability in offering a team for players. For example, staff can create North, West, South and East. Those are the only four teams, and all participating players get placed on those teams.

LOL..its kinda silly to debate if it should be squad based or not as its pretty obvious it will be team based and players only can be in 1 team regardless if a team is from same squad or not.

Honnestly Maka i think a 2v2 will have a bigger chance not to fail than a sockey league as it looks now..simpley cause a 2v2 league will and can provide more teams/competetion than sockey would. i think maybe 3 sockey teams max 4 can be found and that isnt all that many..not in my opinion atleast. Unless all matches will be like best of 3 the league will be over pretty fast.

Actually I'm not so sure about that pern. It seems a lot of those who like Sockey don't like Jav events, and some who like Jav events don't like Sockey.

But from what I've seen, most of the players who play 17th these days prefer Sockey.. which is why it's been played so much.

I can honestly say that I haven't seen anything in 17th attract so many players as Sockey has in a long time.

Everytime I'd try to get people over to play something, they'd just do it 'cause I ask them to then they'd go back to whatever it was they were playing.

With Sockey, people ask me if I can host it whenever I come online.. and the gameplay itself isn't even officially completed yet.

I think it's because it's so simple, and because the gap between pro players and new players is much smaller.

Or that there aren't as many pro ball players than there are fighter players. Either way, that's how it is.

Woah deserted..!!

... places wherever I go!

Before you guys start thinking about a new league you might consider updating the Homepage and add a few more players to the game in general.

The last 'news' post from the zone's homepage is from sometime in the mid-ages of last year (;

And of course you might also want players to participate in your league. Therefore starting with a ffa tournament (just the events) where you gradually might want to add winning points to the game which will then let you/your team or whatever you want to call it qualify to join an upcoming league.

But still:

It's a lot of work that needs to be done in order to get something running.

You can't just come and say: Hey let's have a league next week. - Well at least not in the current state of the zone.

Start a league to attract players to come and play in the zone just won't do.

Build up a community first then start thinking about leagues! - A first step towards this goal would be fixed events hosted at a specific time of day.

But not an ER asking: So lads! What you want hosted. - but make fixed days and times for the events you might want to start an upcoming league with. And try to get the news spread to the SS community!

Well said Faither, my thoughts exactly :)

Unfortunately I haven't found anyone willing to make a new site for us.

On top of that I'm moving soon and I don't know when I'll get a new connection.

While I'm gone I intend to learn a couple of coding languages so I can do some

work where it counts a lot ;) I feel like I only know half of what it takes to make

a great gameplay.. Okay maybe a bit more, but bots are very important tools,

and yeah, an updated and good working website is something that every community needs.

17th will rise again ;P

On the bright side, Sockey continues to attract people and we have great ideas

for the upcoming Sockey bot thanks to Arctica and Samapico.

It's not just the content, we just need a whole new website.

A fresh start. Besides, people who have worked on that

website have repeatedly said that that would be the best

thing to do. Mainly what players in-game would benefit

from the new website (besides the obvious features)

would be stats and scores and a lot of other things that

have to do with bots - website interaction. The problem

is we have no one to take on the job and that's why I'm

going to learn coding.

Interested in a low-pop-kick-!@#$%^&*-noob-faither-coded-bot-hosted-event? ^^

I'd really like to play it again once in a while... but then again... Need to get permission of one or the other before i can submit the event.

On top of that I'd be selling off my rights on this event to you (17th) which, from past experiences with other events submitted to 17th, I didn't like.

Oki that might just make no sens at all but it's 2 am and I didn't get sleep in ages...

On top af that i'm discussing a topic through the forums with myself :o

brb busy shooting myself mega_shok.gif
