Guest Shark!!! Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 Well, the folder will always say read-only, I should of said the continuum directory files, sorry.Make sure they are not read-only. Zone.dat, Macro.dat, Keyboard.dat, and Profile.dat Edit: Hidden? Why would they be hidden... It wasnt.. i was just wondering why it gave me 2 different marks in the boxes..] Sry for confusing you. PS: I r teh Noob, where is the Continuum directory files at? I looked in the continuum folder.. but... i didnt find any of those except zones dat file, and Tips dat file.. and tips isnt one of the ones you listed. ??im confused.. ha.!
PoLiX Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 Wait a second... what folders are in the Continuum directory (folder)?
Guest Shark!!! Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 If i understand you correctly.. and im putting the right stuff in here.. the folders that I have in my continuum folder are as follows: BannersGraphicsLogsScreensaversSKinsSoundZones
Guest Shark!!! Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 oopps..typoish.. Screenshot.. not screensaver.. lol
PoLiX Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 Mmk, was just making sure you had everything in there. So Continuum.exe has NO permissions to write any files. That is pretty much what I am getting here. Macro, Profile, and Keyboard .dat files are created on the 1st run. Zones.dat we include just to keep a decently updated zones list on there. Hmm... I am really trying to figure out why it would not be allowed to write files now...
rootbear75 Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 I have a question on the read-only thingy. did the box have a solid square inside it, or a checkmark?
Guest Shark!!! Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 I have a question on the read-only thingy. did the box have a solid square inside it, or a checkmark? Solid.Square. it was green.. if you need to know lol.
rootbear75 Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 then thats normal... dont worry about it.it means some items in the folder are read-only, and others are not.almost all of the folders on my comp have that square
Guest Shark!!! Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 haha.. ok.. I had never seen it before.. but k. well, im heading off to bed. since its 1 am. lol.. i will be back around 10:30 am if you want to leave anything for me to read.. so i will get back to you then.
Shock Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 It's likely something on your computer blocking Continuum from running. Whether it be a virus scanner, a firewall, an anti-spyware program, or anything else. You're probably not going to locate the problem. It seems like you really want to play. Therefore, the best and easiest thing to do is to backup your files and: Reformat your computer. Problem solved.
Guest Shark!!! Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 yeah, i was afraid of having to do that.. but i guess i might.. Yeah, i tried searching everywhere i could think of for antivirus programs spyware programs, and all that good stuff.. i didnt find any.. ha, i prolly should have antivirus programs, but i dont. and my firewalls are never on. but yeah, you can keep giving me ideas, More than likely though, im going to reformat my computer.. I will do that tomorrow, i dont have the time today.
Hakaku Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 You still failed to give us your computer specifics/details. Are you running Windows XP or Vista? What are some other specific information you can give us? Error 000002b is caused when Continuum is either:1. Installed incorrectly (solution: delete all Continuum related files, and install from a different source & installer)2. Continuum lacks administrator access (most likely cause)3. A virus is preventing Continuum from running properly

A virus is preventing Continuum from running properly ok, i uninstalled it, im about to find a dif. place to download continuum.. i downloaded a virus thingy, and its running right now, (i have so many virus's... who would have knew!? lol) And yeah, im gonna double check the Administrator rights. but yep. i will get right back with the results.
Guest Shark!!! Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 Ok, did all of that bajunk-a-junk.. same exact thing happened as before. Cant double click to make the program run. clicked "run as" to see if it MIGHT possibly work.. Nope, same problem. I should throw my computer out the window.
Guest Shark!!! Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 PS: i forgot to say, but im on Windows XP
PoLiX Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 Have you tried installing any other games besides continuum? It is all the fact that the Continuum.exe doesn't have permissions to write files in the continuum folder... This I have NEVER ran into outside of all the solutions we have given. I will continue to try and find a solution though.
Guest Shark!!! Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 I havent tried downloading any other games.. TEll me a game, and i will go download it.. and see if it works.
Shock Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 It could be anything. I installed Warcraft 3 and my Continuum quit working.
Hakaku Posted July 3, 2007 Report Posted July 3, 2007 I'm starting to think the problem you have may be similar to Fatal error 0000012b, which is caused by a messed up registry:Description: Continuum refuses to open, and roughly 5 to 30 minutes later, the following message appears: “Fatal error 0000012b”.Solution: Not much is known about this error, but it has been suggested that it is caused by a problem in the registry, possibly caused by a previous installation of Continuum, which is now causing Continuum to try and open up twice. To fix this, uninstall Continuum completely and run a registry cleaner. Either that, or it's a conflict with your administration permissions.
Guest Shark!!! Posted July 4, 2007 Report Posted July 4, 2007 ha, yeah i guess im going to go buy a Registry Cleaner lol.. all the free online ones suck. ha. (duh) Well yeah, im prolly gonna try that.. then if it dont work..REFORMATTING will be my next step.. because im really tired of dealing with this.. ha. and im sure you are too. lol.
Hakaku Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 No sense buying one, I recommend Eusing free registry cleaner. I use version 1.25, and have never had a problem with it. It may also be possible to fix it through the regedit (start->run->regedit), but I'm not too familiar with it. But yeah, maybe a reformatting will be your only solution.

I like that Registry Cleaner.. Its really fast. ha. found 1050 problems in like.. 30 seconds to a minute. ha. But it didnt work. Continuum was already uninstalled.. so all i did was reinstall it, after i ran the program. and i double clicked it, and it never came up. Thanks for your idea though. lol.
Guest Shark!!! Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 So, I had my Stepdad in here trying to reformat my computer.. or Restore, Reboot, whatever you can think of.. And he said he couldnt figure it out.. Because my computer is an Emachines.. supposed to be excellent.. but i hate it. lol. Guest Shark!!! Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 OMG YAY! so, the only way to fix that problem is to Reformat COmputer. Easy. lol and it only took me 2 years to find out that. lol, maybe only 1 year.. but there is your solution if anyone else ever has this problem. thanks for all the help guys!!!
