I believe there was a jew named Jesus, just look at how many mexican Jesus there are, had to be one somewhere else. But seriously, if there wasn't such a person, there'd be no fuss over him. I just think he was an early magician, and if there is a !@#$%^&*, he burns in it. Case closed.

Is it !@#$%^&*ing jehova's witness recruiting week or something? I've seen posts like this in a bunch of forums I visit, this week.

i dont know if its relevant, but there's like a 2-4k jehova's witness convention going on in ontario this weekend!

I was actually serious. The 4 other or so forums I frequent there have been a bunch of threads like this one recently. Any one else notice this?

hmm... just a religion-related, but not fanatic thread on explosm.net ... and I won't even check metal-archives.com forum cause... well... anything related to religion in a fanatic way would be deleted in a matter of seconds, shredded, and burned. And the poster banned for life, of course...

...lol apparently Jedi is an official religion... tho there isn't such thing as an 'official' or 'recognized' religion imo...

I live for NOW, not the future or the past. Too much time idly spent wondering whether or not there is a God, and whether or not Christ was real is time wasted. Make friends, make money, make family and make a life. Don't make-believe.

Ah ha! So this is about Christ being the saviour and the

son of G-d. Well then, it's a good thing I didn't vote ;)

Thanks Grav :(

I'd like to point out that all you atheists believe in the lack of God without any sort of proof to back it up. If you were really the open minded, scientific people you claim to be, you'd be agnostic.

The big bang theory is pretty funny, truth be told. "Yeah, so there's like this big surge of energy from no where, but there can't possibly be a God that caused it"

Posted

I am going to move this to political as its has taken a serious route.

My question to you is this, Do you believe i am free to interpret those text you provide in my own light? For instance the creation of the universe and man can still be interpreted in the way described in the scientific literature without making one atheist by default.

Lets take the day in the days of creation for instance. Does it necessarily have to be a single earth day or may it be a generic period of undisclosed time?

I refuse to answer, as for some reason I don't believe he's catholic. Which would mean his version of the Bible was edited...

I never claimed to be an atheist. Many Christians make that mistake when up against a vehement criticism of their beliefs, and drivel like this is the result. I guess it's in your nature to assume so i'll forgive it. God may exist, just like the Easter Bunny may exist. There is just no evidence for God existing, just like there is no evidence of him not existing.

Again, with the Big Bang theory, no scientist will tell you that this big surge of energy came from nowhere. They'll tell you that we can trace the universe back to a point when it was very small, dense and hot, and this indicates an explosion. What caused the explosion is unknown, in the same way God's existence is unknown. There are no unsubstantiated !@#$%^&*umptions in the Big Bang theory.

Seriously guys this is not a joke and I am just so confused, you all try to put science in it. My questions were the same for whoever said that Do you believe in god and are you going to heaven were different. If you truly believe in your heart that the son of God(not i did not put g-d/dont be afraid to write GOD)died for your sins and that he rose from the dead and that you shall meet him in heaven. Now the bible says that all you have to do is repent and accept him. It is fairly easy and you will find out all of this once he is in you and your life is changed for the better. Now i know some of you that put science to the test saying"How could someone just be there". Well how could the earth be made (a comet-no,molecules-no) hows the universe made the big bang?-no big bangs supposedly come from a black hole so how did the black hole get made? GOD! How did GOD make the universe?

Genesis 1

blah blah blah

Please pay attention where do you want to end up !@#$%^&* or Heaven no joke!

The human body is just too complex to be made "accidentally".

TRUST THE LORD!

kid you need to get out and meet the world.

Well the explanation i got back at university from the religius teacher was that there were not days they were steps, if you see it like this it makes more sense.

Erm.. Do I believe there was a prophet who lived 2,000 years ago who happened to have the name Jesus? Yes.

Do I believe he was the son of God/my savior/bla bla/etc? No.

I'm an agnostic.

Why? Because it is so incredibly stupid to worry about the afterlife, whether you're going to !@#$%^&* or heaven or whatnot, or who and what will be there, if anything.

Seriously, try to rationalize it.

There is no way for us to know what will come after we die, until we die.

We are all going to die one day, whether we like it or not.

So why worry about something you KNOW you're going to find out eventually?

I don't believe any God created the earth, there's too much evidence supporting the theory/fact, however you want to view it, that the planet we live on was created naturally.

Folks just need to remember that, at this point in time, there is not enough evidence to say for sure whether there is, or isn't a God, so arguing about it is, 99 out of 100 times, going to be a complete waste of time, because no matter who "wins" the argument, neither of you will know if you're actually right or not.

just like the Easter Bunny may exist

actually thats a great comparison. God & jesus & all the like that are being worshipped is just the adult, mature version of the easter bunny, santa claus, tooth fairy for kids. Reasons for believing in it are exactly the same

I never claimed to be an atheist.

Some people in this thread did. I wasn't talking to you.

Many Christians make that mistake when up against a vehement criticism of their beliefs, and drivel like this is the result. I guess it's in your nature to assume so i'll forgive it.

Which mistake? The atheist one? Refer to my comment above. Looks like you made a mistake, but since it's in your nature I'll forgive it.

There is plenty of evidence over the years. You just choose to ignore it, or p!@#$%^&* it off as the ravings of lunacy.

I say God created the big bang. That's my hypothesis, in the language of science. One can't prove a hypothesis, only disprove it or provide an alternate explanation. So I challenge you to do so.

Anyway, whether you believe in Christ or not, doesn't mean you're going to !@#$%^&* or Heaven. God judges your actions, your being, and your thoughts; not the labels you put on yourself to prove you're following the best path. Remember, some people never had religion (e.g. autochtones), or even knew the concept of religion (e.g. Japanese), so what'd happen of them after they died?

Pergatory. It's in the Bible too.

I've been told by many Christians that a murdering rapist will get into heaven if he genuinely accepts Jesus on his death-bed. The tales of forgiveness, with which the Bible is riddled, appear to support this statement.

What evidence? (this is traditionally the point where the Christian makes a quick exit from the argument).

That's certainly possible. So how do you need to interpret the Bible now?

Actually no-one in this thread has claimed to be an atheist, so please, stop making excuses.

And being a hypocrite, a liar and a re!@#$%^&* is obviously in your nature. Case closed. Actually come to think of it, you've re-interpreted this thread to make it read the way you need it to read to make your re!@#$%^&*ed !@#$%^&*umption factual, something that should be very familiar to a Christian... If there is a !@#$%^&*, then there IS a Jesus.

God created Nature, hence the 'natural' creation of the Earth supports Gods creation of it.

Wow I'm like blown away that this seemingly vastly intelligent community can be so ignorant when it comes to GOD. I challenge any of you, all of you, to do some real research. Try and prove The Bible wrong, I won't be suprised at how many of you who do this with an open mind are converted and truly find your way, through faith, to where you should be.

God Bless us all, I am,
