So a good friend of mine is getting married, problem is, she's marring a total !@#$%^&* bag. He used to be a friend of mine, but pulled some pretty dirty and low !@#$%^&* durring my best friend's wedding (most of which she doesn't know about, as far as I know), and frankly I'd be happy spending a few months in jail for assault just to beat him within an inch of his life. She doesn't know I think the world would be a better place without him in it, and she'll probably never know. Oh, he also thinks I still like him, mainly because I don't want to damage my friendship with his fiance.

 

Anyway, do I go to the wedding in show of support to her and sit on the bride's side just to spite him, or do I just not go at all? Frankly, I don't agree with this marriage because I think she's too good for him, but she's also been a long time friend who's been more of an inspiration to me than 90% of the people I know. Also, the reservation says " ___ of 1 will be attending" which kind of seems insulting to me, even though I'm single. It almost says to me, "you're not good enough to get a date to come with you". I could be wrong though...I tend not to trust anyone these days. I've been back stabbed so many times that I barely trust my own mother, which is probably why I'm still single, but that's a whole 'nother can of worms we won't open right now.

My opinion, as a friend you should be honest about your problems with him but make sure she understands that you're saying it out of respect for her and that you care enough to say it.

 

As far as the ___ of 1, bring 5 people with. Just pick up some hobos on the way there and seat them on the groom's side. For added fireworks, put a bottle of vodka and a ham in the middle of them.

i think you should tell your friend how you feel about the man she's marrying. if you're good friends and she truly trusts you and respects you as a person, she'll take your opinion into consideration, seeing as how this is one of the most important days of her life. i wouldn't just sit there and watch my bestfriend marry someone who doesn't deserve him/her.

Attend. She is your sister for crying out loud. Who cares what other people did? Just because you go doesn't particularly mean you support or agree with her decisions.

 

EDIT :: You also might want to sit down and talk with her too (as soon as possible?).
