Nice. Now how about size?

 

If you made it the same size as searing heat, it would completely phase out the other two since they could be negated without dealing damage.

If you made it too small, no one would use it, since searing heat and needler would make it worthless.

 

You'd probably have to make it slightly larger than lightning, but definitely smaller than needler.

I was thinking bigger than searing heat, therefore you wouldn't have to reach the point it spawned at to make it effective. The field settings I've been looking at, and no one seems to even use the lightning field (it's like a brick attack but a bit bigger..) so I'll probably eventually look at some new ones, based on other inspirations with fields.

The thing about Lightning fields, is that being much smaller and shorter, it is much harder to use them as effectively. Personally I love using them, admitedly I don't get as many chances to use Lightning, but nothing can compare to the destructive power of brick attacking someone within a lightning field. If you're looking for more ideas for fields, one that I heard someone mention once was an emp field, something that shot like an L1 emp bomb with a pretty long interval between them (If there was a way to have the bomb do 0 damage and still EMP them, you could make it have a much shorter interval.)

 

Oh, and the idea of a field negator is pretty nice actually, if you just couldn't be shot while in it, but I would tend to not make it LARGER than searing heat, as it would completely destroy needler, lightning would be horrible, and brick attack useless.

Oh, yeah, I love the chance to use a lightning field effectively, it just doesn't come very often.

 

EMP fields..would be way too good or way to useless right now, unless you just happened to be unlucky enough to be in one when it shot. If the EMP settings in general it would be a good idea.

 

Field Negator wouldn't outlast any of the other fields (except brick attack of course) and would still be a one-time use like the others. That way it can negate multiple fields, reach a wide enough area to be worth it, but not completely kill other people's money drop on their fields.

 

Other ideas I had for fields were status-down, a temporary ?prize -stats type thing.
