Does anyone happen to know if there's a way to access and convert to a Windows Media Player or iTunes file the "Dolby" movie music and intro movie music which plays when Descent 3 is launched?

I think the music is awesome, and it would be great to be able to listen to it on one my music players and burn it on cd.

Can anyone help?

why did you post at all?

Why did I post the question?

Well, this is supposed to be a game forum, isn't it?

I thought perhaps there was someone here who might actually have the information I was seeking.

But, apparently, I was wrong.

So much for looking to this particular game forum for answers.

well you posted it in the 'forum games' section. which is for the games that are accessable on the forum like the arcade and ss rpg.

Check some fan sites of Descent 3... I know Freespace people had developped various converters to tweak the game files... and both games are pretty much on the same engine so there must be something to convert them

Hi,

Thanks for the tip and for letting me know you're the Descent "Pro" here. biggrin.gif

Unfortuantely, I only have a iPod Shuffle.

If I did have a regular iPod though, what software program would have to installed on it in order to run the uploaded Descent 3 movie files?

i think i might've scared him off...

good job me ....

Hi Rootbear75,

Nah, you didn't scare me off, but I did feel like I had to look elsewhere for the answer, if there was one.

And, I guess in my "desperation" to find the answer, I, in fact, did not notice I had posted the question in the wrong section.

I'll try to be more careful in the future.

What format are the movies in the descent folder? I am !@#$%^&*uming the Ipod shuffle wants them in quicktimes .mov filetype which is worst case you'll just have to find a program to convert it. But I know very little about Ipod stuff. Granted now that I think of it more, you said music players and what not. If the movie is already something you can watch in say Windows Media Player or Winamp, there should be programs out there that can rip the audio out. I do not know any offhand though.

yea sorry man,

its just we get so many people asking stuff about other games, it kinda gets annoying saying this isnt a forum for those games...

anyways, try out continuum (which is what this forum is for) http://www.getcontinuum.com

So... what format are the Descent movies in? What's the extension of the files? Can they be opened in, say, windows media player?
