DaRuler Posted June 13, 2007 Report Posted June 13, 2007 I'm starting this thread because I don't understand where it is fair to take someone's money AND SHIPS away as well as banning them for talking some trash to staff. Where's the rule on this? There is none, it's abuse. Yall know what I'm talking about, and I'm just addressing the issue even though lots of people have problems with him for whatever reason, it's not fair to do that. Staff for the most part has been nice to me, so this is nothing personal, I'd just like to know how it is possible to do this. Quote
Sharpflame Posted June 13, 2007 Report Posted June 13, 2007 ...? If you were banned for trash talking mods, I think it's a rule, even if not listed. Read: F1 rules blah blah blah Moderators reserve the right to extend or abridge these rules as they see fit. Quote
Kilo Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 The only people who may judge abuse by staff are higher staff. If one wants to see how much he or she can annoy staff before they do something, then they also accept the risk that something rash might be done. Quote
Deathmonger Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 If rc was banned that's one thing, but if his account was reset it sounds like it went one step further into "I'll show you, rc, that my e-penis is bigger" mod abuse. I'd hope that HS staff, whom I have rarely seen abuse, would be above that kind of petty retribution against players. Quote
Boldot Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 From what I saw of it, it was more than just some talking trash, it was repeated inflammatory remarks, which continued after both warnings and smaller punishments were used. Ignoring these, and continuing with said remarks after smaller amounts of punishment failed to curb the behavior obviously leads to larger kinds of punishment. I don't believe he was "wronged" in the situation, I think he acted like an idiot who needed to be put in line, and was rightfully and justifiably put there. Quote
DaRuler Posted June 14, 2007 Author Report Posted June 14, 2007 What I say to that, is that it is an online game. People will talk trash. It's fun for them. I get talked trash to and spammed PMs but I'm mature enough to say, whatever it's a game. If it were an employer it would be different, but it's only a game. No cheating or anything, just some trash talking? He was one of the most active people in HS. Now he has to start all over. I just think that the punishment went too far. Why couldn't they just ban him for a longer period the next time he did it? It was a 3 day, well make the next one a week. Then 2 weeks, etc. That would get the point across. All this was, was exactly what death said. Quote

DaRuler Posted June 14, 2007 Author Report Posted June 14, 2007 I realize that I wasn't disagreeing. I'm saying the punishment is absurd. Quote
ESCANDAL0SA Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 i agree with DaRuler. it's funny how people can't take trash talk, but they can dish it out easily. it's the internet, chill out. a couple words won't kill you. Quote
Sharpflame Posted June 15, 2007 Report Posted June 15, 2007 Still, again, the zone rules say no swearing, so follow the rules or don't play. RC's punishment may have been talked about with the mods and they decided to reset his account, don't argue with the mod's decision. Quote
Dr Brain Posted June 15, 2007 Report Posted June 15, 2007 What I say to that, is that it is an online game. It's a game. Bans rarely ever have the desired effect. I'm not saying the punishment fit, but it sure sounded like you had SOMETHING coming. Quote
