there is a sticky above that details the things you should do, but it dosent help. all of my programs have been running for weeks so i dont think its that. is there a way to disable that security measure? or try to isolate the program away from other programs to think its the only thing running. i have a backup windows drive and i can start that and isolate continuum but i would have to disable detection of the other hd's and so nothing else would work.

i would just go to C:\Program Files\Continuum and completely delete the directory. when you dl it, it may be adding items to that folder instead of deleting them all and completely reinstalling them. once you do that, dl it again. you could always look at the task manager to see if it is even opening or what is happening to it.

did. i even deleted it from the registry.

i found it will work if i create a limited user and log in under that. i guess il just have to do that from now on. still reply if you know a way to isolate continuum from other programs. most likely the only people who would know that info are the coders themselves so i dont think il get an answer. screwy continuum

No, System Restore your computer back a time when it worked.

Same thing happened to me after I installed ATi Video Card drivers. I think it's some sort of glitch, because it worked fine after I restored to yesterday and tried it again.

Its the programs you have running. Usually the security ones like Cancer mentioned. I had this same problem with SpySweeper. Because it autostarted in the background, i wouldnt realise it was running, but when i tried running continuum it wouldnt run. When i opened up task manager, i would see continuum popping up and disappearing again. Do you get this on task manager?

i have my computer set to default start using msconfig so nothing is running in the background.

this problem started today, but i did not install anything so im quite confused.

Also, the problem keeps coming back on a limited account. i got on this afternoon fine but i cant get on now. stupid thing.

and my computer is gay and wont restore to an old time correctly. it keeps saying i cant restore to that point after i picked 5 different points. Bleh, stupid problem. i dont want to have to restart my computer, change drive target to backup, and restart with isolated hd every time i want to play continuum.

If it won't let you restore, you don't have System Restore enabled. If it lets you restore and it fails, you aren't logged into the administrator account, or you have a virus that's preventing it from happening.

Try downloading AVG and scanning your system over the night.

kapersky is better than avg. i had avg, then changed to kapersky, found 13 new viruses on first scan!

im on an admin, and kapersky isnt set to start on startup so its not on when i start. it keeps the problems to a minimum

All of you have given him bad advice, since you're all thinking of "fatal error 000004bc".

Fatal Error 0000004d is caused when the Continuum file's compatibility settings are improperly set, or changed.

To fix this error, right click on the Continuum icon and select "properties". Go over to the "Compatibility" tab,

and deselect "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"

Reason: Continuum doesn't recognize alternative compatibility settings.

And the fact that Continuum didn't run before is because it's got the common bug caused by Antiviruses/firewalls or something similar. If you can open Continuum through "run+as", then that means 100% something is blocking Continuum from running normally; that, and Continuum will be jumping all over your task manager.

If neither of those things help, please post again.
