Here is my newly designed Team Tracker. It has many new features including a Team logo! The only areas that work are:

 

Team/General

Edit->Edit current Values

Edit->Record a finished game

 

They are in tabs, you'll understand once you dl it.

Please let me know of any suggestions.

My biggest update is the logo smile.gif.

report any bugs as well. ty much.

 

p.s. any ideas for the design/layout of the other blank tabs such as finances, schedules, players, is appreciated.

It's better, but the tab is messed up still. Missing stuff, and why have 6 times 'team city'?

 

+logo works though

 

- Fails to recognize between home and away team. If I put myself as "9-1" (home-away), and say I'm the away team, it records the points from the home team and puts them as mine.

-Goals for/goals against is the same problem

-penalty minutes are recorded as powerplay minutes if you put yourself as 'away' team.

As a matter of fact that's a not a bug, but a failure in clarity. Let me Edit some stuff and update it to make that section more clear. It should then work for you.

I'm happy! Anyways, this new version is most clearly worded for Hakaku, but most importantly(to me), the teamlogo works better, with no flaws whatsoever. Next i will work on the "record a game as it goes" part, unless someone suggests otherwise. Ty for all comments.

Hakaku:

1. What do you mean by tabbed thing is messed up. I realize theres nothing there if that's what you mean. I have 6 "teamcity's" because i don't want to delete the labelse, and then create them again. It's like when you're coloring and you don't put away a marker because you may use it in the future anyways.

 

2. Rewording should fix all the other "problems"(weren't actually problems).

also, please ignore the "photologo" and "photologo OLD" labels on the "team/general" tab.

 

Sorry i'm so sloppy, but i'm in the middle of dev. all the excess lables do is help me understand what the bug is when i get them.

Ah, yes, will fix that. Right now, my imagination is failing me. I'm trying to think of a way to include players. this would have to be around 25 players. I don't know if you (hakaku) know much about programming, but if you could give suggestions it would be great.

I will attach a new app. it has some tab fixes, but i'm releasing it just for the sake of showing you the idea i have for editing players.

 

P.S. also, look at "record a game as it goes" tab, and mess around w/ it. Nothing works, but i did a recording thing in a "read only text box". I like that idea alot.

I like the way you did the players tab (even though you can't do much with it yet), but my suggestion would be to have it use the metric system instead. Blame me for being Canadian, but if I say "Player A = 5ft'5", I have no clue what that is in inches, and it'd just be simpler to use cm over inches and/or feet. Anyway, not a huge problem, I can easily ignore it atm.

 

Other suggestions (you don't have to implement them of course though):

~add more positions (right, left, stopper, sweeper, midfield [inside right/left, outside right/left], etc.)

~add player #, and optional field to add extra information (and possibly have optional add player photo)

~add manager(s) in edit

~add phone numbers/e-mails/fax contact options

~add an alt over game records to explain "win/loss/tie"

 

For record a game as it goes, it looks nifty, but you'd need a "start/stop/edit time recording button". And it also says 'opponet'.

+I like the fact unicode is supported

 

I can't think of anything else right now, and can less help you with your coding :/

also, if possible, make it so when you hold your mouse over the input area or over a label, it explains what that label is used for...etc.

Small update, but important. Right click context menu in the player "list". allows easier way to add a player, and allows you to remove a player. Copy and paste don't work in the context menu/right click though. Like usual, suggestions appreciated and reported bugs as well.

Here's a new version w/ these updates:

*more better organized teams and players (as far as files)

*new button works

 

But i need some preference on how to incude players w/ stats.

This would include:

*choosing what player scored

*choosing how many that player scored

*what to choose this all from and how

I've decided to continue on this project. Now that i know how to p!@#$%^&* values between multiple forms, i am going to restart the project (again). Does anyone have any suggestions on how to set it up visually? I was thinking either..

 

1.Mainform takes whole screen. Have a list of players, click on a player and a window pops up describing that player.

2.Team Form, Players form, "other" form, all sharing the screen.

 

What do you think?

^working areas. the mainform works as well(thus the file->open). it'd just be great to get ur help in ways i can't. ty.

 

EDIt:yeh i just remembered. you need to create a folder in MyDo!@#$%^&*ents directory names EXACTLY "Team Files" and a subfolder in "MyDo!@#$%^&*ents\Team Files" named "Free Agents". sorry for inconvinience.

i've made some big progress.

1. i got a good system for recording goals, !@#$%^&*ists, and penaltys.

2. my coding has become much more efficient. i'm now using the player class well, and that will help in many aspects and is future happy code.

 

dl the new version here(prerelease .10)

 

edit: to see the new recordingsystem (it isn't working yet, have to go to bed B) ) go to tools->gamerecorder. open a team. double click on a player.
