I always hear new talk about, "ZOMG JESUS THIS SHIP IS BETTER THAN MINE IT MUST BE NERFED" or something along those lines. And also the occasional stuff about ships needing upgrading. Now, the big issue seems to be the Terrier. Maybe the staff can fill us in on the changes that they are planning to implement to the ships in this thread. I didn't find any other threads to do so. This would also be nice because If I'm going to upgrade a ship that is getting nerfed and i don't know about it I'll probably end up pissed off =P

 

Here are some of my opinions, discuss yours if you'd like:

 

WB - Way too fast with all the speed upgrades.

 

Terr -Doesn't need to be slower, and the energy could be decreased by just a little bit. If it gets any slower it will turn out to be a weas, which is horrible for centering cause it cant catch anyone. The main gripe seems to be the shredder though.

 

Weasel - Not good at all for centering, because of speed, but I guess EMPs make it exclusive enough. Would be nice (As Sharpflame suggested) to have double barrel guns on weasel to make it more appealing.

Actually, with how SLOW the weasel's guns are, and how SMALL the multi-spread is, and how SLOW the weasel is in the first place, I think all of the above gives the weasel a reason to have double barrel.

 

 

HE Missile is kinda lame on weasel, though... maybe if it were not 3 bounces.

 

My suggestion of a good weasel for HS:

 

Give it Double Barrel (I wasn't here before, but I get the feeling that it used to have double barrel along with it's super-lame-fast bullets?)

No bounce bombs

Do something with gunspeed, depending on how lame the double barrel would be. Increase if still no good, lower if lame :(

Slower Bombs - about between the current and the terrier's bombspeed atm.

More Rotation speed

Crap thrust to make it hard to run :D

 

It seems like the above imaginary weasel I suggested would actually work, since the old weasel was huge, now it, along with terrier, is small, so a double barrel wont be huge. Remember how terrier stunk with slow bullets, and still it had double barrel? Just put the old terrier settings on a weasel of today, and give it emp!

 

Of course, what I just suggested was a vision of a cool weasel on hs, but not overpowered. Notice, I said "Crap thrust to make it hard to run :D" because weasels ran ALL THE TIME when they were big and fast. Haha, I remember weasels being so darn fast, one time somebody ran and ran for like 10 minutes saying "10k if you kill me!". We dont want fast weasels anymore. Doublebarrel would really be nice in the way that I vision it.

it definitely needs to be fixed - it's not compe!@#$%^&*ive even with costly upgrades to ships that cost 1/2 as much after upgrades - constantly n00bed by warbirds and terriers

wzl is made for basing, which is why its gun speed is so slow.

 

Also, regarding bounce on bombs, i think that the lanc should be given a few bounces+better bomb speed, that way it could stay back like a mothership should and still have a part in the action. I'm imagining the motherships of starwars BattleFront 2 space battles right now (eh not quite that powerful); they stay back but still shoot turrets and therefore still get in on the action

Yeah, I was probably the biggest weasel lamer rofl that was fun :D I think the gun speed should be faster, but don't change the speed. So at least it can't run away fast.

my sugestion:

 

Terrier:

remove shredder, its too powerful to be on a ship this fast with this much energy.

lower recharge rate a little so other ships can actuly kill it once in a while

 

Weasel:

Lower the emp time, its not necessary to emp some1 for 6 secs

add double barrels, this is offset by the modification above

(id like to get plasma on weasels, but that might be too good)

 

shark:

dont allow sharks to get radiating coils, there way to good for rushing in bases because they dont get hit with bursts very often.

 

 

 

i think wb are fine, there ez to kill, and there only defense is speed.

 

Javs are like wbs, cept with bombs instead of guns. ez to kill

 

Spiders are fine, there too slow to combat much in center and only useful in bases.

 

Levis are fine, they get piled on by everyone already but can often take out turrets and larger ships

 

lancs have got nerfed enuf. there only use in center is mining and turreting and both are hard to do

 

 

 

on other changes. TAKE OUT DAMAGE. its VERY annoying and i think almost useless. i keep loosing multi when im using fletchette and so i cant do crap.

 

find a way to nerf the safe-laming with levis, its not a balance ship prob, its a safe zone manipulation.

 

and stop the id weps!!! i h8 getn my turrets killed by sharp :( only solution is to use antimatter mines, he seems to like hitting them.

 

And can u find a way to code in a new burst that worked like the old ones, where it atracted the shots instead o pushing away that was sooo much fun with those and mines smile.gif

ever try killing a pulse laser ter with a wb. its darn near impossible. my wb is as fast as wb's go so i can often get the kill by runnin across the screen and surprising people. i also seem to do that with mines, which is a very bad concept.

 

i know it might be too much nerfing ter, so maby add a bit more energy and a bit less recharge to balance.

 

i play weasel all the time, so i notice its problems alot. also i HATE emp spammers cuz it takes so long for emp. i wouldn't mind if they reduced emp even though my best ship is a weasel.
