Dav, calm down.

1. Media is re!@#$%^&*ed and tends to hyperventilate and drool over people whom they have good PR and lobbying with.

2. Apple's actual support are comprised of a clan of vampires which is very dwindled and small, because as everyone knows - vampires cannot reproduce merely convert a small portion of the living onto vampires themselves.

As such, there really is no threat, and PCers kick the !@#$%^&* out of applegeeks like Van Helsing each time they meet.

Remember, the good outnumbers the bad.

2 sith, a fleet of bad MOFO jedi (if it wasn't for !@#$% traitor dumb!@#$%^&* and crappy george lucas writing, them sith would've been extinct a generation back)

The real original ending of starwars prequel:

[Aboard the STD Malevolence]

Darth Vader> oh noes they're coming; come my master, board the shuttle, we must escape!

Darth Sidius> who's boarding us?

[door breached, sent flying]

Master Mace Windu> Mother !@#$%^&*ing Jedi on a mother !@#$%^&*ing s!@#$%^&*estroyer - that's who!

Master Yoda> Finish you good came here we have, hmm, this time zap of !@#$%^&* doing be mine, hehehe.

They are talking like touch screen PDAs are a new thing when apple does it. anyone else sick of the apple overhype?

They did do it differently though; you can use multiple touches at the same time to operate the device. It's something I haven't seen before on such small appliance.

How is that different from queueing commands on a regular computer?

Sometimes the CPU takes time to process !@#$%^&*, meanwhile I can type in commands and click on alot of stuff, and as the !@#$%^&* gets untangled it all comes through one by one.

So they're queueing touches now, booja...same !@#$%^&*.

Are you...an applegeek, Mav? blum.gif

Very much so. Reminds me of the ipod, sure it will be good, but it's gonna be far too expensive for what it is, and there will soon be similar and better gadgets for a fraction of the price.

Thats exactly what I'm getting at. Yes it probably will be good. At the same time its overpriced and the compe!@#$%^&*ion will overtake it for cheaper yet you still "must have an apple".

Also a multiple select is possible with a ctrl and click. I can see some usage benefit from it but its not enough to blast its compe!@#$%^&*ion which will soon offer the same, possibly more for less money.

Apple have a great marketing team, thanks to them, people actually buy their products. If it wasn't so well advertised, people would realise that it's overrated/overpriced pieces of poop. Even though I have an iPod...

The Iphone is indeed a step in the right direction. From a phone standpoint its very amazing. The sms layout is awsome. The way the browser works far surp!@#$%^&*es most readily available PDA phones on the market. I Read long before the release date that the phone will be shipped with 8+ gigs of memory which is huge for a PDA phone.

The voicemail aspect of the phone is pure ownage. The gui is layed out much better than windows mobile and palm bottom line.

I have owned beta tested and or used some of the most powerful PDA/Smartphones on the market and the release is very anticipated amongst heavy bussiness cell phone users.

I have never owned a apple product but deeply considering purchasing equippment

I am not personally impressed with the iphone. It does have 4gb standard, or 8gb standard memory. With a 2 year contract it will cost you 500 for the 4gb flash mem and 600 for the 8 gb flash memory. When you think of how much you're paying for the phone, that isn't a remarkable amount of memory. With a roughly 3.5x2 in screen to work with it really doesn't help you out much being able to use two fingers at once. To hold it and use multiple touches one will have to be your thumb, and I don't know about you, but I don't have very good nails and I can't get too precise with my thumb. Also to go along with the story of apple, it is closed to developers. Open development is a huge market in smartphones and being iphone really doesn't do anything functionally wise, than your other smartphones don't already do, or can do with the correct application, I think it's an overhype.
