Aileron Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 JDS is right, my defense isn't that strong, though it seems to suffice. This turn rate is actually pretty standard for the long-term MMORPGs, though up until now we've been playing this sort of like a speed round. Speed rounds are just imcompatible with summer. The students are working and the workers are going on vacation. With fewer turns, you have to be more judicious with using them. Generally, you should never attack somebody unless you can directly see their defensive strength in a recon, especially if the target is ranked higher than you. There are times where you can estimate defense from various factors: weapons, army size, rank, memory, previous attacks, and even the very fact that you can't recon them can be used. (The last one is the most risky estimation technique I've tried. The logic goes that "If their rank is low, but their sentry is obscenely high, all of their other stats must suck or else the player would have a better rank. It works 1 out of 3 times.) Also recognise that due to luck, you could strike with as little as 75% of your attack strength, so attacking someone as strong as you are is risky. There is always the one-turn attack if you wish to test their defenses, but even if you don't intend to sab, you should always pay attention to covert just so you can save turns.
Falcoknight Posted June 6, 2007 Author Report Posted June 6, 2007 Choke, Redwaller? LOL! Weren't you the one who QUIT the last round? Also, sorry if I actually play the game during the round, instead of just sitting there and banking so I can claim a pseudo-win at the end. And don't say that isn't a viable 'strategy' this round, because everyone who has played at least half a round of this game knows it still !@#$%^&*-well is. Maybe if attack turns had NOT been decreased it wouldn't, because the money would be half-way vulnerable, but the lessened risk of attack and more affordable UP almost makes up for the lack of interest. And Smarties, stop trying to be a smart-!@#$%^&*, you're failing abysmally. Did I ever say "omgz lololol im guna be der winnar al rownd!?" No? I stated that the top 5 in the first half of the round won't be the top 5, or in the same order, as it will be at the end of the round. Did I say that anyone should just stop playing because of that fact. Oh ho! No again? Didn't think so, kthxbye.
Dav Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 last round i played a combined strategy. I could have gone top and stayed their or close till the end but the second i did that i knew 75% of clan penis would go all out attack on me not to mention several others. At that point I decided to hide a few ranks down until I could run away with it.
