»doc flabby Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 (edited) The official 10th anniversary of SubSpace takes place Friday 30 November 2007. I would suggest the weekend 1&2nd of december is used for all the offical celebrarions. We need to start planning now for the party $$ Which means ideas etc are required. My ideas Needs a website with these sections- History with different stories of subspace from different view points. (basically people write there accounts of the history, not just one "official" account, seeing all the different views is more interesting)- Event listing for the weekend + (week!??) events to be hosted in many zones simltainously (no point trying to force people to go other zones cos the only people who did advert in there zone other zone events was and still is TW)- Link to special Forum here- DIGG button- get a Slashdot on subspace with link the aniversary website- Some kinda promo/compe!@#$%^&*ion- SSRadio covering the weekend- player interviews + videos- Special banner and ship set- Events should have SVS theme. Special maps for all SSC zones for the event.try and get in major Gaming Magazines. This is a great event to celebrate all that is and more importantly for alot of people WAS great about subspace. I'd like to see subspace go out with a BanG, lets make this our last party before quietly sliding into obsurity. Edited June 1, 2007 by doc flabby
Dav Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 Sounds great. Organizing this early can only make it good. This is a great event to celebrate all that is and more importantly for alot of people WAS great about subspace. I'd like to see subspace go out with a BanG, lets make this our last party before quietly sliding into obsurity. lets have some optimism. If we get this in the magazines and advertise it well enough it could act as a nice booster to the game and give us the pop to go another 10 years.
Hakaku Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 Planning ahead is a good idea, I'm on board. Definitely massive ad-campaign and whatnots, but let's hope it doesn't fail like previous attempts.
»Maverick Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 unfortunately we aren't playing Subspace anymore
»freakmonger Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 I don't care what you say, it'll always be subspace
»doc flabby Posted June 1, 2007 Author Report Posted June 1, 2007 (edited) unfortunately we aren't playing Subspace anymore Nothing stopping anyone setting up an original subspace server for the aniversery. Then you CAN play SubSpace Edited June 1, 2007 by doc flabby
jacob hunter! Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 Subspace is really fun. why don't you play it?
Incomplete Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 I thought we play Subspace but the client was Continuum? :S It's all confusing anyway...but that doesn't matter really.I also thought the 10th year was last year...
Samapico Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 well... I guess this is the 10th anniversary of the OFFICIAL subspace release... the beta is dated 1995 or something
rootbear75 Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 for the 10th anniversary, regional conferences should be held.one on west, midwest, northeast, southeast, and southern statesmaybe around 20 ppl per conference if all goes well
»Rowen Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 I posted an article on the fact we are playing subspace. The renaming of the client is just a marketing plot by Priitk. Technically Subspace is no longer trademarked, and the game / feel / community is that of the original game.
Dav Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 for the 10th anniversary, regional conferences should be held.one on west, midwest, northeast, southeast, and southern statesmaybe around 20 ppl per conference if all goes wellWhat about Europe? We should have a few over here as well.
rootbear75 Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 that too... wasnt thinking out of the country
Hakaku Posted June 2, 2007 Report Posted June 2, 2007 I just noticed... SVS is so boring, and most zones don't even use it anymore...
Gravitron Posted June 2, 2007 Report Posted June 2, 2007 Get ahold of passplay, have him rig you an arena in chaos, have advertisements going everywhere in SS, run a zombie/slayfest old school style.Fun!
Dav Posted June 2, 2007 Report Posted June 2, 2007 Perhaps we should try again at getting continuum on steam and try to have some download sites give us a good rating and a feature on their special downloads pages.

Please more ideas like this and less marketing crap please This event is about noltagia and having a big-!@#$%^&* party, not about getting more people to play.
1$hot Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 I'll be sure to get netbanned on this day. c u soon
Cancer+ Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 First off, we should put people in charge of it. 2 or 3. Have them meet up with the zone owners and discuss ideas.
Greased_Lightning Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 Get a convention center in Las Vegas. Why Vegas? Cuz tickets are dirt cheap and it's not like any of us are friggin millionaires or we'd be playing this game in real life.
Caddy Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 Will try to get coverage in a big Benelux game magazine, PC Gameplay. It has a indie game section and can make room for huge articles. Will maybe try to access other big computer/gaming magazines, cannot guarantee anything.
L.C. Posted June 8, 2007 Report Posted June 8, 2007 This event is about noltagia and having a big-!@#$%^&* party, not about getting more people to play.I better finish Jackpot SVS by then, then. Perhaps we should try again at getting continuum on steam and try to have some download sites give us a good rating and a feature on their special downloads pages.Sent a submission. It might take a month or so for Valve to get back to the e-mail. Continuum should be appearing on Vapour soon.
