That sounds like a FUBAR cham, hope you get it fixed.

At least the HD is okay, this is what's the real important thing, nothing bites like losing all your hundreds of gigs of /r/ !@#$%^&*.

Check to see if the GeForce is still working too (plug it in a friend's comp or something...hope it wont burn theirs either ), if you got warranty on any of this !@#$%^&* now's good time to make use of it.

Seems very strange, If you overload PSUs they arn't supposed to do that, they should trip the fuse long before that happens.

 

If the PSU has malfunctioned like that i think it is quite possible a power surge could have damaged other components.

 

Take a good look at the MOBO and see if you can find any blown chips or capacitors, do the same on the gfx card (provided you dont have to open it up)

You might wanna find another system (friend, family or w.e) so you can try out every part individually to check if it still works.

 

You didn't leave a screw laying on the motherboard while turning it on I hope? Because that might have caused a short-circuit.

Naw i didnt. I actually just got done spraying it off for dust, i made sure nothing was damaged and placed wrong. But meh....

 

Im thinking about replacing what i have with this stuff:

If anyone wants to be generous and try to find me some nice/cheap stuff, please do.

 

I need 478 pin intel socket, agp 8x slot, pc133 sdram, mATX, and at about 50 bucks.

 

I think im gonna buy the mobo first, then try it with my current CPU, if that doesnt work, then ill assume the CPU is shot and buy another.

 

For CPU, ill do something around...uhh..2ghz+, p4 intel, 478 pins, at around 50 bucks as well.

 

Or even if any of you guys have something for sale, im sure some of you have some stuff lying around

im on the waiting list for a new card... if you don't want that one, ill take it...
