This and other events raise the same question of what to do with the items people have on their pub ships

Because every other zone in SS has elim, and if we can't put a HS spin on it, it's not worth doing.

I agree.. but the fact of the matter is.. only certain people can host this.. people with the time.. and people who can try to even the odds.. with the right powers.. unless we put it into the events arena.. but that would be D1's call, considering that is his arena. Either way, I think it can be done.. with an HS spin ... just would take a lot of time and effort from certain individuals to set up .. etc.. (if it were to be put into the events arena) .. or to be hosted in the public arena.. plus some other stuff.. meaning it's possible.. but I don't think anyone with the right knowledge for this stuff.. has the time to do it..

Thus is why HS has always lacked events other than race, turretwars, and pub-based activities. Elim, Duel, and the boku's of other events that can be found in other zones are non-existent in HS. Anyone wanting to actually participate in events are forced to leave HS. And without the dedication or time from the staff members who can make such events possible, the generall HS pub will probaly never see an event other than "trivia."

Why not have an elimbot, certain shipsets, and the winner of the elim will get a certain jackpot with some cash, more depending on how many people are in the arena or something. I don't know if elim arenas will pull the majority of people away from the public arenas or not though, since there are not MANY people who avidly play HS. I dunno.

Predefined / random ship load outs could be used.

 

IMO letting people use their ships from public wouldn't be suitable for elim.
