Perhaps give a certain ship 1 bot turret that flies with it. All the ships in HS are closely the same when it comes to weaponry. Perhaps make one ship like this that can have a variety of turrets set to shoot when you time ?

I always thought that would be useful in basing, where you could assign one guy to drop autoturrets to guard the rear against flankers.
