Ok, so please tell me... what's the deal with Mercenaries? Is there a limit on how many you can have? What do they do? Do they use the best weapons? Etc.

They are as strong as their regular counterparts, but are all as resistant to casualties as untrained soliders. They also die first in any engagement. They could earn income if the settings were different, but currently they generate no income.

 

The best use for them is to protect your conventional soldiers. There is currently no limit as to how many you can buy due to limitations on the core.

More importantly, there IS a limit on how many are available to buy. This amount is for all accounts, so if I buy the mercs before you do, you won't be able to buy any. 20 are made every hour, though.

How do you train untrained mercenaries???

They changed it ani, its now 100 every hr. I suppose they changed it cause of the m!@#$%^&* suiciding that occurred a few days ago.

You can't train untrained mercs, you just have to buy the trained mercs instead. Of course now, availability is an issue, so that may not be an option.

So what do untrained mercs do???

Untrained Mercenaries act as Untrained Soldiers. You buy them to protect your main army, because they typically die first.. and seeing as they bring in no income, they're nice to have around. Edited May 15, 2007 by Shock
