What is Hyperspace theme?

Coming from Chaos I entered into Hyperspace and must admit I'm slightly confused, too many years of Chaos flying... what is the purpose of the Hyperspace Arena? It seems, very strange to me, a nooB.

Kill/Flag to gain money and experience. Use that money to buy ships and items.

 

Note to newbies: Stick to center until you have a ship that's capable of basing. Or flank the flaggers, that's always fun

Tips for Nooblets:

 

Suicide if you cant kill

 

Only spend money on one centering ship, then work on a basing ship, then a lanc.

 

get a reactor plant and sublight drive, each for about 10k.

 

after you get a reactor plant and sublight drive, get 2x close combats

 

HOARD MONEY!!!

 

Bricks suck, dont get them.

 

If you are new to a zone with these ship settings, use a warbird.

i think if ur new u should first get a

 

wb

 

then get fuzion and ion drive (more nrg recharge speed rotations and thrust) because it is slow by itself then concentrate on the items and specials (cc, aw, rockets, ports, and guns bombs)

 

after u r finished with ur wb u should be like a basing flanking ship (spider wzl terr or shark)

 

then after those get a lanc u should test ur items first

IMO, u should never get cc or any utilities first. Always reactor or sublight, better if u get reactor cause theres no point of using items when u cant get on a basing pub freq nor would you survive long enough to use it in center.

 

Choose wb like rc said cause it has bounce bullets and can kill relatively easily when you dont care about dying.

i think "real picard" should know that the ships items that you buy for it stay w/ the ship through login/logout. this is the only zone that does that....i think. this zone is flaggin as well. if you do "?buy" it gives you a list of categories, such as guns, ships. if you do

"?buy it shows the items in the category. a "?buy ships" would give you warbird, javelin, spider, etc.

People have their own ways of playing hs... my first ship was a lanc... for basing then i made levi and jav for centering, ect ect

The purpose is to rape and pillage enough to build your ship to own everyone and ultimately win flag games!

What keeps the game fun for me is annoying the heck out of people with dodging and swift attack. It may not be the main reason for Hyperspace, but it's a reason to keep playing. Other than that, basing and seeing whose combination of upgrades is better/who can use them better.

Understood, thanks. Hard to believe I'm killing people with less experience than me, but that's a good sign I guess. As new as I am to the zone, many others are flocking to it. You should put Cerium in charge of public relations, he gets credit for me showing up (though the power trip threats of having me kicked out might be left aside).

i used to play almost religiously last year until i cashed out almost everything, then neteller goes down 2 days later. I havent tried getting any money back onto my accounts because i lost my check book (for checking #) and i dont want to wait a month to set up an eP!@#$%^&*porte account.

actually i already have an account on FTP, otherwise i would. Im an affiliate for stars, so i can see your point

 

Im a US player, so the CC companies themselves wont process the transactions, and I believe you are too so you should know what im talking about. If i lived anywhere else i wouldnt have such a problem -_-

 

I dont remember all the options on FTP, but i know on stars my only real online option is ep!@#$%^&*porte, which im not sure i want to deal with.
