»Ceiu Posted May 6, 2007 Report Posted May 6, 2007 I noticed that the inner-gates seem to have priority when it comes to checking if a player is in a region. I've no idea how it's coded, but I can make an educated guess based on how it functions. I've been told that there's a queue of sorts and it's been guessed that it's the first position packet the server sees... but I highly doubt one person simply sitting on the gate will constantly beat out 3+ players -- especially when those 3 players are firing weapons on the gate (which, for those who don't know, generates an additional position packet for each weapon fired). My suggestion is to either change the priorities (so players in HT can move into bases before people can move out), have the side with the most players have priority, or randomize the priority when both sides have players waiting. Fat Cat Posted May 6, 2007 Report Posted May 6, 2007 This has come up before, and I believe Doc said he intended them to be this way. Quote

Dr Brain Posted May 6, 2007 Report Posted May 6, 2007 That's meant to promote the use of the other FTL engines, especially jump engines. Quote
Choose Profile Posted May 6, 2007 Report Posted May 6, 2007 jump engines and id drives are ALWAYS down. ive seen steig put them up once in the past 3-4 days, for a few hours. i sold mine earlier today because they've became essentially useless. Quote
Dr Brain Posted May 7, 2007 Report Posted May 7, 2007 There's an issue with regions on newly loaded maps that I haven't yet resolved. Once I get some time, I'll fix it. Quote
