How do you use the banner emrpoum thing.... every time I go to the site theres like nothing to click to get the banner wtf. I have always wanted to know how do you use it.

Click on the banner picture you like then on the next page there is a big 'download' button.

Pretty easy.

 

Too bad the navigation just totally sucks (apart from searching per player).

omfg... I searched my name... and it says I contributed 2 banners... Does this thing like... 'grabs' banners from you or something?

... It definitly does... but how? ... They grab the banner when it's sent to the server? Where is the banner data stored server-side anyway?

 

And yeah, never really liked the navigation either... Only valuable thing is 'Show 50 random'

 

But wtf we should be able to get one fat zip of X banners... that would make our life much easier, plus it would reduce the transfers/queries to the website I guess... having 1 bigger download is more efficient than 1000 small ones...

yes the bot copies the banner while you wear it.

 

Imagine the bot is just a continuum client, just as you he can see the banners people wear. Well knowing that, it isn't far to think that the bot just stores the banners (that it sees) to the database and displays it at SSBE. (technically it's a bit harder though)

Does it make a screenshot and take the x-y coord to x-y coord out of the bmp or how does it do it?

Ofcourse not, it saves the banner packets it gets from each player.

hmyeah... just started playing with Mervbot... and I just realised doing this is more than easy... it needs like one line of code

I know this is a slightly old thread but wanted to let you know I was the one who bugged Catid to include the player changed banner event into the core. I had a statistical plugin which recorded everyone's locations, flag data, score, banner, even chat information and stuck it onto a php-driven website. Complimenting the flag and player location I used gd2 to output all the information onto a PNG LVL output. Too bad that plugin never got much steam and it was never released.
