🜲 PoLiX Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 http://www.sscentral.com/polix/ I know it don't work in IE (Something still baffeling me... images don't change sizes just cause of a different browser), but curious if it works in Opera, Netscape, etc. Thanks ahead of time. 🜲 PoLiX Posted April 18, 2007 Author Report Posted April 18, 2007 Oh, and any ideas on how to fix it in IE would be appreciated. I've left all the css code viewable in src so it is easier to understand. 1st time I've done a site this way, so learning as I go testing things. Haven't really looked to see if any sites out there explaining this, so might be part of my error. LostAndNotFound Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 (edited) It looks the same in Firefox and Opera. I have no idea how to fix your problem. I know very little about this sort of stuff. http://img168.imageshack.us/img168/2477/jhgjgjhve5.jpg Edited April 18, 2007 by a disgruntled Texan
Shlazzer Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 What doesn't work on IE..? I see some minor lining-up stuff... but that's not a big deal. http://stash.dedicational.com/subsbar2.jpghttp://stash.dedicational.com/subsbar9.jpghttp://stash.dedicational.com/subsbar5.jpghttp://img255.imageshack.us/img255/3806/shlazthemoverr51qk0.gif

Cancer+ Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 I'm using IE7 and it looks fine to me. The images look good. Pictures look like they are where they are supposed to be. http://card.mygamercard.net/gelsig/black/cancer2687.png

Hakaku Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 Also using IE7, works a-ok. As for IE6, bah, forget them. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v138/zacinu/SubSpacebannt2.pngPSPACE (SourceForge) - Alternative client (source) to Continuum
★ doc flabby Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 Also using IE7, works a-ok. As for IE6, bah, forget them. 50% of the world still uses IE6 unfortunatly...Including my place of work. The problem is something to do with one of IE6's many buggy css routines i think.... It creates some margins by itself even if u dont tell it too If u look at the left side of the menu in ie6 there is black margin that isnt their in firefox. Also the network bar at the top doesnt appear in firefox Rediscover online gaming. Get Subspace.Owner of the PlaySubSpace Network (level 0 BanG) and PSSF server
🜲 PoLiX Posted April 18, 2007 Author Report Posted April 18, 2007 I think I'm going to have to just fix it through php. Load a CSS File for IE6- and another for IE7 and all other browsers. Bajan had the same issues previously with IE and FF. He got it to look right in IE6, but FF !@#$%^&*ed it up, so doubt even he has an idea for this one outside of mine. And he is the expert at this of all people I know. ★ Maverick Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 You might want to try to eliminate any spaces in the place where IE creates the unwanted margins, I used to fix a few weird spacing errors in IE with this. Yavaris Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 IE7 adds a black border (red square) and on both ie and ff, when you size down you browser width to almost the same width as the site, the banner "slides" off the main body (red circles). I dont have any sulotions tho, I never left the table phase of web development  http://img360.imageshack.us/img360/6962/sitezz9.jpg http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/5232/sigyavaris7jd0.jpg

🜲 PoLiX Posted April 18, 2007 Author Report Posted April 18, 2007 Fixed that issue. Now it !@#$%^&*ed IE6 up even more... hahaha... wow. SSForum.net - September 01, 2002 - Rowen (SSDownloads.Com), PoLiX (SSCentral.Com), and Cyberise (Subspace.Net)

rootbear75 Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 Why would anyone still use IE6? lazy ASSSbecause in places such as businesses they want all their computers to have the same browsing capabilities.same with school. all computers must be updated or none must be updated(schools might do it at the end of the year, i wouldnt know) people at home, and on their personl computers just dont care. until they start having problems, it wont matter. its a hassle sometimes to download updates. http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t54/badgersocks/FHTG/FHTG%20-%20redone%20shizniz/tgmember11.pngrootbear75> here is me nude <spoiler tag: Pervert... how many of you actually clicked this?>Samapico> I actually clicked the spoiler before reading what it was Corey> I clicked it cause i read what sama said first. darkreb0rn> I clicked it because I wanted to see you naked... rootbear75> O.o __________________________________2:IdleRPG> Mr Snuffleluphagus walked face-first into a tree. ★ doc flabby Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 Why would anyone still use IE6? lazy ASSS Also remember IE7 is only for windows XP, 2003 and vista. You can't get it on older versions. Alot of people still use windows 2000 and windows 98 (especially fellow SSers). All the computers at my work are windows 2000, hence everyone uses IE6. Firefox is not an option as my work uses activeX controls. Rediscover online gaming. Get Subspace.Owner of the PlaySubSpace Network (level 0 BanG) and PSSF server
