jacob hunter! Posted April 15, 2007 Report Posted April 15, 2007 Ok it all started when I downloaded continuum 39 prac from http://www.subspacechaos.com/39.php After I did that I don't think I followed the directions correctly because after I downloaded that, I zipped 39 into my continuum folder directly. And now... It always says "failed to load dynamic library" "Fatal error 000004bc" And then when I try to delete continuum all together it says "this thing can not be deleted because it is being used by another program. So i'm like wtf do I do.... I really don't want to reformat my hardrive for this.
jacob hunter! Posted April 15, 2007 Author Report Posted April 15, 2007 ok.... well thats not the problem now. now the problem is "this thing can not be deleted because it is being used by another program. So i'm like wtf do I do.... I really don't want to reformat my hardrive for this.
Hakaku Posted April 15, 2007 Report Posted April 15, 2007 Technically it's the same problem. When you got this error: "Fatal error 000004bc", it means that you couldn't start continuum because it was already previously started. So if Continuum is already still running, then technically you can't delete it. Have you tried restarting your computer? Usually that works.
Zuru Posted April 15, 2007 Report Posted April 15, 2007 Something similar happened to me, it wasn't for Continuum but for other stuff. I would open the 'Task Manager' and then 'End Task' it either in Applications or Processes.
rootbear75 Posted April 15, 2007 Report Posted April 15, 2007 (edited) Safe Mode FTW! restart, hit F8 before you get the the Win XP logo and the loading bar. then click select Safe Mode.Log in, delete continuum, reboot, redownload continuum from ANOTHER site, then play! YAY! EDIT: when i read that, it looked like a "HAHA you got pwned! Virus FTW HAHAH!" Edited April 15, 2007 by rootbear75
»Maverick Posted April 15, 2007 Report Posted April 15, 2007 Really no need for safe mode at all, just restart your computer or kill the process in the task manager.
Shock Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 By chance, did you try installing the standalone .39 client? There's a setup for .39 on subspacedownloads.com.
rootbear75 Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 Really no need for safe mode at all, just restart your computer or kill the process in the task manager.well i know that. but if it keeps booting up and he cant close it out that way, safe mode is the way to go.
jacob hunter! Posted April 16, 2007 Author Report Posted April 16, 2007 ok i'll try safe mode now, thats my last option.
