for the past few months my continuum hasnt been working...

it all started a few monthes ago. Sometimes when i would open Continuum, all the zones would be red, so i couldnt get in, and it wouldn't work until a few hours later. The same thing was happening to my brother (we have a network set up at my house, so when i say my brother i mean in the same house under same IP).

After a month of this happening, SS finally quit working all together. I thought it was pretty wierd because of how it gradually died out. Of course i tried a few basic things like redownloading the zones, which i thought had worked at first, because when i hit the download button, and all the zones popped up, it even said how many people were in each zone at that time. But then when i would hit ok, every zone would be red again and say 0 ppl were in each zone. After this i figured that it must not be broken altogether.

So if you have any idea of what might be wrong and what you could do about it, plz tell me. THX

(BTW I have tried a few of the basic tips stated in this forum, and have reinstalled continuum a number of times since this happened)

It has something to do with your connection.

Make sure none of your firewalls are blocking it.

Try connecting the computer directly to the modem without using the router and see if you still have this problem.

I'd go with firewalls, make sure none of them are preventing Continuum from working. For example, if you have ZoneAlarm, make sure it allows continuum to run, if not change its permissions from blocked to allow.

Either that, or it has something to do with your connection. Can you play other games? Can you still surf the net and all? (you didn't mention it, but I'm !@#$%^&*uming yes).

Also, try removing all zones from you download zones' list (that is, make them ungreen), then press ok. Then go back into zone downloads and select any random zones that you want, select their names so they appear in green again, and press ok again. Does this happen for all servers? (Such as SSCU, PSS, SSCI, CSSS, etc.).

When you say all zones are green, but when you try to enter they become red, were you getting pings from them before? (Such as to the left of EG, it'll say "ping 140")?

Are you running Continuum normally, i.e. not through "run as", or not modifying its compatibility mode?

Ive checked my firewall before 2 (which i prolly shouldve mentioned), and it still has been allowing continuum

anyway, i tried what u said Hakaku, and i added a whole bunch of random zones (all with different servers). And 2 of them actually started to work...they were both servers i'd never used before - SSCT & SSHK

out of the ones i added that dont work, the servers were - SSCC, SSCE, SSCI, SSCU, SSCX, & SSEO

btw what i ment by when the zones were green, it was only when i tried to redownload them (in the zones menu above the listed zones i have). other than that they are always red.

o and shock thx for advice too, but my dad wouldn't really ever let me connect directly to the modem...thx neway though

EDIT: o and i forgot to answer your question hakaku...Yes i can surf the net with no problem, and yes i can play other games online too.
