  1. 1. No Swearing Rule go or stay?

    • Stay -- we want to live in a society that's love-love and devoided of life's little pleasures like Dr. Cocteau made.

    • Go -- we want to live in a society that's freed and full of fun and naughty like Demolition Man created.

Distort, no more sex, pizza, anything with salt or that depict violence in any way for you anymore.

Enjoy watching Barney and Teletubbies, see how long you can hold with that.

(Holds the timer and waiting for the breakdown.)

Anarchy, no. I'm a firm believer of order.

However, I do not believe in collateral censorship (at least to the verbal degree) and tyrant opressive dictatorship.

And you think my nomination bares any relation with reality because?

And just what relevance netop has with censorship, BTW?

I wouldn't start debating with you what a netop is anyway since my views were already covered in that thread.

As said, I wouldn't start debating as I've already covered it all.

scarface, how can you honestly ask that of anyone while holding a straight face given the emo-tranny avatar you have?

In addition, this is a vote for the players of hyperspace, go be dorks elsewhere and let the players have their say.

Stupid topic derailers.

Okay, this one is funny. You get a cookie. smile.gif

You know I'm born to lose, and gambling's for fools,

But that's the way I like it baby,

I don't wanna live for ever,

And don't forget the joker!

Clarification: we're talking about someone getting hit by a massive barrage outta no where and saying "!@#$%^&* that hurt, gg" sort of things. Of course not people spamming swearing lines for the sake of just that.

I have to agree with grav on this one - no swearing rule is silly.

Even TW allows swearing, but to keep it family friendly it has ?obscene turned on by default.

I think this is the fairest solution imo, then you can always ban the people who try to trick the filter....

It's Dr Brain, not Dr. Brain. Get it right.

For the record, I've never cared what my zone population has thought. I'm not making HS for them. I'm making it for me. Additionally, what other zones do and what I do are almost never the same thing, so saying "Zone X has no problem with swearing" is just about the most useless argument as far as I'm concerned.

Gravitron has been banned from both the HS zone and the HS forums, so this thread can now die.

Prehaps HS can publish a list of words not allowed, so that one does not get banned by accident. I have quite a wide vocabulary of insults in a wideish varity of languages, i would like to know which i can use whilst in HS blum.gif

So brain, you care more about yourself and your zone than you do for your players that support you and your zone?

Yet, another reason why I would never suggest your zone to anyone, as well as come visit it myself. I guess that pretty much pushed the "I wonder if brain is a self-centered prick" question in the "YES" direction.

Zones have the ability to make their own rules, there is nothing against that in the SSC rulebook.

If you want to play HS then dont swear, simple as that. You may not neccacarly agree with the rule but as long as the people in control are going to enforce it you will be getting banned regardless of your views.

I dont understand why in this game people have to go out of their way to break a zones local set of rules just because they disagree with them, its quite frankly childish.

Then whats the point?

You make zones so other people can play.

How selfish can you be if you only make it for yourself?

No swearing is fine,

but imo hs should have a definiative list of swear words,

otherwise its just going to be abused by staff to ban people they don't like....

I mean someone people would say the word "crap" is a swear word and some wouldn't.

You can ban "Gravitron" all you want.

I have free access to come and go as I please.

As for your zone, we all know how much ownership over a zone is worth in SubSpace.

And then there's the other shoe...

Rootbear, allow me to clarify it for you:

See, brainiac here has no soul. He's a machine devoided of emotion, love and passion.

He cares not for this game, or any game or gaming et al.

To him, hyperspace is nothing more than a learning experience while creating the ASSS modules.

Beyond that, everything and everyone else could burst in flames and !@#$%^&* themselves.
