Okay.. Seems like youve come to this topic and thought.. this is just some other scheme or this is just some kid who dosent know how this game works.. your 30% right because im sortof flying blind from time to time. I have been doing this project for one year now.. trying by myself.. obviously that hasent worked.

For a year I have been going through the server files from EXE's to the template.sss going back and forth looking for answers to my questions, Talking to BETA Testers and Devisions people from TW Dev to Aquarius's SubSpace Divisions team that help zones.. and yet.. it still hasent help me much.. But the server files seem to have the info on how settings are run and how they work.. so I'm betting it is possible to make new settings. Not like the out of this world settings, but more like taking like the gravity part of settings and make a setting for gravitybullets or GravityPowerballs.. seem alittle crazzy.. but from what ive looked at and reviewed.. it is 70% Possible IMO. If anyone has any information relating to Settings and how they work.. plz post a reply and ill read it and look into it. Since PriitK *CREATED* the server files with the settings and how they work in it, That's one way of seeing it as possible that Grelminar made ASSS aswell.

"Sighs" Maybe one of yall will say "Oh I remember hearing about how this works" or MineGoBoom (I hope) will tell me by replying in this topic. Thank you for reading.

Use ASSS and don't even tell me "TW doesn't you ASSS" because you need to step away from TW if you want to do anything spectacular. I would say it is impossible to add new settings to any trench wars game simply because TW will not upgrade their biller for TWDev newbs, I'm not saying twdev is newbs (not exactly yes.gif ) , but I am saying that upper staff in Trench Wars looks at TWDev as newbs.

So practice makes perfect, run an ASSS zone, start a turf game!

Edit: And yea, it's possible to make new settings. It's all in the biller, ASSS is an example they have new settings. All you need to do is learn how to program C (i think), and edit the code. BUT once again, i doubt trench wars will upgrade their biller.

The short answer is

Not on Subgame

The way settings work is that the server says "Hey, I need a value for this. What does it say in the file?"

You can put whatever else in a settings file you want, but unless the server knows to look for it (read: ASSS) nothing different will happen

Indeed. with subgame its imposible.. maybe there are some hidden settings or w/e, i dont know but with subgame its imposible to create your own settings.

Translation:

JabJabJab: I looked at the server files I think it's possible to add new settings such as GravityPowerballs to make balls get sucked into wormholes.

Everyone else: What you want to do isn't possible. You can add some new settings with ASSS but these won't change anything, they are only used in the same way as mervbot .ini files - to control events like elim.

ASSS can't do that?

But objects are controlled server side.

The original SubSpace/Sniper had wormholes draw in bullets as well.

Then someone had the bright idea of bullets not being affected by the gravity, only bombs...

Once a weapon has been fired it can't really be changed. The only way to alter it arbitrarily would be with repels. Doors, bricks and wormholes (changing the strength) could provide some control but could make it unplayable due to players getting sucked in or brick/door warped every few seconds.

As for whatever the old client did, looks like that has been written out of the code and we all know we can't change the client.
