»SD>Big Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 merged x'terr plat thread, same deal as this. "The Merging is complete" - Protoss Archon
»Admiral Kirk Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 Anyone looked at the network ban list recently ^^
Chambahs Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 Plat got to work pretty fast by what i see for ?listban -* lol.
jacob hunter! Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 so plat is the new netops, and kirk is banned wtf please explain more if you can. If it's not top secret ego bull!@#$%^&*.
Chambahs Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 #2206 by Ghost Ship 2007-03-28 09:13 days:0 (removed IP) Admiral Kirk GS changed it from 5000 to 0, which means that the timer should have gone out..well thats what my sense tells me. Kirk isnt banned anymore, i see him ingame all the time.
Animate Dreams Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 A ban of 0 days is essentially a banfree, at least when given by Ghost Ship.
»freakmonger Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 plat had lvl 1 way before this happened. I don't think they even removed it :/ And if you look at those bans, they are all for the same IP Address. i.e. banning the player I requested the other night. (multipile times lol)
Knight Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 (edited) Changing a ban to days: 0 turns it infinite. I'm pretty sure anyways. Kirk is locally banfreed by TT. And kirk is still netbanned. Edited April 6, 2007 by Knight
»Maverick Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 yup, a 0 day ban is a ban that won't expire.
Rudemeister Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 I'm comforted by the knowledge those nimrods over at SSHT will amount to little more than street performers later in life. There's absolutely no way in !@#$%^&* they can continue to be the villainous clichés they are without eventually growing bored of getting beaten at every turn.

Gravitron Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 As I surmized, Kirk's netban been a technical glitch of sorts. It was thought that a zero-day ban will be ineffective and remain as mere do!@#$%^&*entation of SVS's abuse.Apparently, Priit had not shared the thought.Probably since, being a programmer, it makes no sense to him to have a ban that does not ban.So he made the zero a special case for infinity.!@#$%^&* happens.

Or did you somehow expect it to?Frankly, anything said in this thread is not going to influence the outcome of that situation past the point of speculation. Thus I care little to what SVS did to himself, nor what position it leaves MG in as a result, so long as the job gets done by the next competant individual.
Gravitron Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 Classic limited-scope perspective. You should join the council trencher, you're definitely their material.
Knight Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 No Comment other then Kirk's ban has magically lifted
»Platinum-Halo Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 Well... kirk is banned, and plat has lvl1 I have zone level 1 in about 10 different zones. Plat got to work pretty fast by what i see for ?listban -* lol. There was a player that met net banning criteria that needed to be delt with. No NetOp avaliable so I did what I had todo for SS. so plat is the new netops, and kirk is banned wtf please explain more if you can. If it's not top secret ego bull!@#$%^&*.No, I am NOT the new NetOp [see above]. No idea about Kirk's netban.-Plat
Rudemeister Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 You couldn't pay me to. I imagine being on the council is quite similar to not being on the council, only with the addition of another mailing list to create more penis enlargement spam for my inbox (for which I'm already quite satisfied with my equipment thank you very much). !@#$%^&*, it took well over a year for them to wake up and realise we didn't have any representation since DoCk> jumped ship. Not that we weren't doing fine on our own the entire time, albeit the lack of coders. So MG missing SVS, boo-!@#$%^&*ing-hoo. DoCk> left us in the lurch without any notice, but did you see us crying over it? Rather than sitting on our arses praying for a second coming, we took charge with what resources we had and made good with them. We operate without any full-time sysop and we've hardly suffered for it. I expect no less from MG if the zone has any testicles whatsoever. Face it, no one is coming to your rescue when everyone else is already too involved with their own little corner of the Continuum universe. You can preach all that SSC unity bull!@#$%^&* until the cows come home, but at the end of the day nothing has or will change in that department.Just hurry up and select the replacement NetOp before the backlog of work (a good portion of which comes from me I imagine) snowballs out of control for the poor sucker who unwittingly stuck their hand up for it expecting bonus street credits.
Gravitron Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 Trench is represented by Priit.Thank you for the wall of text, newbie.
Dav Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 Rude. What you have highliged here is that there will always be somone to fill the holes made when things like this happen. In a game like this where people climb the ladder it will always be the case regardles of server/zone/squad.

Gravitron Posted April 8, 2007 Report Posted April 8, 2007 Rude. Grav not only does not believe in a second chance, but he denies a right or attempt at a first chance as well.Grav>Regardless as to how you look at it, it's elitist and rather obsolete if not lacking on the cranial capacity to the level of a fetus from both handler and client standpoints.drackiller> lol, some1 told me b4 that i have the IQ of a toast oven when actually i have an 130 IQ. That means im what?Grav> A programmable microwave.Maynard> And the burn of the week award goes to... Yeah, I'm rude, so what is your point?I mean -- that surprises you?I know you're a newbie, but I thought everyone around this place knows me by now.
