Gravitron Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 No I didn't. Like I said, I'm strict, believe in zero tolerance like Jeff (towards cheating/misconduct) and have a hefty ignore.txt. I've been with EG from before and after PM joined. It is not spite, the person was an immature brat (which was fitting his age at that) and he abused quite a bit.FYI, Murphy did not help countless newbies alone, he had support from little santa helpers throughout the years. The likes of tailchaser and loops are not even worthy of discussion.
Knight Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 Hmm, I think the people trying to vote me in, think this is for local access, and the people voting for mackie thinks this is netwide BanG Admin... Now I still assume we are talking about BanG Admin(netwide). Anyways, What's wrong with having people from MG? I don't think it really matters what zone people come from. Infact, I think that is the last thing that should be considered. Maybe people have really different opinions of what a net op should be. I'd prefer someone with no real attachment in any zone, if your going to base the fact on whoever is in whichever zone will promote them more then others... But I don't see that being a problem... Nothing netwide really significantly benifits one zone. It's more of a "for the community" type position. So I don't know why zones are even being refrenced. It should be based on prior experience, at!@#$%^&*ude, dedication, and all the talked about good personalities in all those lovely books you people should read. Fact is you should look at the person, what they have done, what their at!@#$%^&*ude is like, how active they are, and how much they know, then from that, see which suits the communities needs better. My biggest concern, is getting someone active, willing, and have this little thing I call common sense
»Platinum-Halo Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 Not really sure why, but I would be willing to give back to the community that stabbed me in the back originally and take that aspect of my job back if allowed to-do so per the council of course.-Plat
»Platinum-Halo Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 Plat for netop!...Again!...Too bad it would never happen. I bet 90% of this community doesn't even know who I am anymore, hehe. Kinda nice actually to an extent -Plat
»SD>Big Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 now you can retire in some remote island with tupac and elvis
Muskrat Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 Tupac lives somewhere around Dallas, Texas. I smoked a blunt with him don't ya know! Oh, and yeah, you're just wishin' we don't remember or see through your thinly disguised plea!
Hoch Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 Smarties There seems to be some confusion about what is to be decided, so in the absenceof MTN clearing it up I will. There are two issues that the Council is currently deciding. The first (and mostobvious) is who will take over SVS's vacated position on the Council. This will most obviously be someone connected with MG (applications are still being accepted the last time I checked; i.e. we have not yet decided). The second (related) issue is who will ascend to the position as a NetOp. This may ormay not be someone who is presently on the Council. More than likely it will be some-one who already has lvl 1 BanG or has had it in the past. -Hoch

»Ceiu Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 No offense to MG, but why is everyone saying they would nominate someone from MG. (Not trying to bash MG) Just seems odd. I guess Im just glad no-one public really has a say in it is what im trying to say It's the only point(s) of reference they have for people who represent "power" in this game, aside from the well knowns who are already in such positions. Not only that, but MG is now in need of someone for SSC representation, so I think people are just !@#$%^&*uming that the two "positions" go hand in hand (which, they don't). Personally, I think Freakmonger can and will get it, as he's not only worked with GS directly, but is well established and well liked in a few relatively large zones. As far as the popularity contest angle goes, that will go a long way. Also, while we're at this whole restructuring thing, [insert obligatory deathplus removal reference here].

»Admiral Kirk Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 Holy crap, its plat!! Id vote for your !@#$%^&* in a heartbeat. Plat for NetOp!!

I dunno, it's possible that I have a biased opinion towards you because of your affiliations with MG, and that I consider mature because, compared to the rest of MG, you're pretty mature. Whether your demeanor is mature compared to that of other people in other zones is beyond me.
»freakmonger Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 yes he would..if he came back. I see him once every 4 months or so
larrythehamster Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 Personally, I think Freakmonger can and will get it, as he's not only worked with GS directly, but is well established and well liked in a few relatively large zones. »freakmonger Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 I see either swift or plat getting it, if there even is a new BanG Admin selected.

Ahh, Cerium found my point, as for KN|GHT, Im sorry if my post offended you, it was not meant for that, rather for the fact that SSC encomp!@#$%^&*es many zones, and the only people who were pointed out besides grav were from MG. Although I do like freakmonger. But, I only tried to present the point that Cerium reworded for me. Edited April 4, 2007 by Steigerwald
Gravitron Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 Shutdown SubSpace while at it, Muskrat. Hey Plat, how are you? LTNS.
Dav Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 holy crap i go on holiday for a few days and somone ASSS on the game (again). personally I would vote for freak. I have worked with him in the past and know him to be a good guy. As far as the shock factor goes i think a classic quote has slipped people minds. Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutly I can see why this happend, when people get into a heated argument that 5000day netban ability looks like a big red button with VICTORY written across it, I guess retraint went out the window and SVS hit it.
Gravitron Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 True enough, yet at the same breath -- some are weaker and more inclined to fall to the dark side than others.
Dav Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 indeed. Everyone has that line that can be crossed, its just a case of how much it takes. Idealy a NetOp should know where his/her limit is and have a high tolerance, have the restraint to not use power for personal gain. Also if they do lose it they should have the balls to own up and not be too stubborn to put things right ans apologise when they step out of line. IMO its not only about the limit, its about whet you do when you do something wrong like this as well.
Animate Dreams Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 Didnt read any of this because im not re!@#$%^&*ed... APRIL FOOLS, hahaha, yea not funny. So obvious. EDIT: If you are going to try to pull something like that, then at least do it to someone whos not svs. Make it more believable please. lol
