»1587200 Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 Well, lets just thank the ssc that it isnt a popularity contest, because we all know how people get benefits if they support someone into power.lol, good one.
Muskrat Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 Most states still elect judges, do you think it is better to appoint them?
NBVegita Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 I have a feeling this will end as all things like this do. Who ever the council likes the best, which will rule out the option of fresh blood, will get the position. It's just the way said things work.

Who ever the council likes the best, which will rule out the option of fresh blood, will get the position. It's just the way said things work. That mentality has done nothing but cripple the process and expansion of this game, so maybe it's time for a change. This would be a good opportunity for the council to show they care for the game, since promoting yet another lifeless afk speccing bum into a position where he/she is required to help people would only further the already well known fact that the council doesn't care about this game.
NBVegita Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 Syrus, I would love to see fresh blood in there. It would be just what the game needs. I just don't see it happening. In fact I would even think that someone already in the council would just add the !@#$%^&*le to their name.
»doc flabby Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 Most states still elect judges, do you think it is better to appoint them?It is better to apoint them. Judges should be impartial. Otherwise their decisions will be affected by there concern for their popularity. Thus they will be given to give out disproportionate sentances and make biased rulings. All judges are appointed in the UK. And once appointed they cannot be sacked (barring any serious professional misconduct). It is an essential basis of law that a judge should be impartial. Electing them leads to bias.
Shlazzer Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 And the last thing we need is a bunch of NetOps running around making biased decision, it could uproot the whole of SS, and that's not good My Votes (in order):1) Kn|ght2) Freakmonger3) Gravitron Freak and Knight are extremely close though.. both are dedicated and responsible, and when talking with them, they both seem extremely mature.
X`terrania Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 Knight isn't mature. He's a child hidden in a mid-age body. I'm starting to think that SVS was set up.
Shlazzer Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 I disagree, I find Kn|ght to be a mature person, but hey, whatever
Knight Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 I'm immature, I giggle too much. But then again, the majority of people with the "mature" !@#$%^&*le, are only given that !@#$%^&*le because they don't talk. So I soppose it's all how you've been introduced to someone, and talk to them on a regular bases that decides your opinion. As for being set up... Your kidding, right?
No_Remorse Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 I haven't been active for ages, but here are my picks... PointmanMackiemanMine Go BoomGravitron, lol Maybe there are some newer guys I'm overlooking, but I don't think we should be looking for "new guys". What better than an individual who has withstood the test of time, and has proven themselves over and over again.
Gravitron Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 (edited) That's nothing, knight. I've actually been told by women that I'm over sensitive... http://face-and-emotion.com/dataface/emotion/media/surpman.jpg NR, I'm appaled.PM is an abuser.Smackie has long ago lost it.And Murphy...there's bad blood there. »1587200 Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 Mackieman, lol, talk about an inactive bump on a log...
jacob hunter! Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 gravi FTW. I say we all bycott SS. We can do it!!!! We can over throw all the inactive people on ss. And make way for us people who actualyl care about the game.
The Apache Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 i still can't see anyone good for the job tbh.http://img374.imageshack.us/img374/6202/serioustu8.jpg
»doc flabby Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 Its a thankless task whoever gets the job...
jacob hunter! Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 who is going to announce the new person?
Muskrat Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 It is an essential basis of law that a judge should be impartial. Electing them leads to bias. Indeed, but if you think that appointing judges doesn't make judges have obligations and whatnot, I disagree. My point was that either way you can never find impartiality. Even so, I'm still for d1st0rt(ID6). Even Gravitron(ID8)... anything but freak or kn|ght...
larrythehamster Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 who is going to announce the new person? Did anyone actually say that there'd be a new op?
No_Remorse Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 That's nothing, knight. I've actually been told by women that I'm over sensitive... http://face-and-emotion.com/dataface/emotion/media/surpman.jpg NR, I'm appaled.PM is an abuser.Smackie has long ago lost it.And Murphy...there's bad blood there. Spiteful much? I guess maybe PM may have at one point or another done something to upset you, but, judging from how he has presented himself in the past, I'm going to have to stick with that answer. Could be worse, tailchaser anyone? lol. I remember seeing the log of the first BanG's and tailchaser was all over it like Jamaicans on fat white chicks. Sure, the Macksta may be a little innactive but I wouldn't say he "has long ago lost it". heh. And by Murphy I'm going to assume you mean MGB. I don't know the guy much, but, what I do know is he has helped out countless newbs with his server help site.. *cough* me included *cough* You left out the part where you criticize yourself. Now isn't that convienient.
Steigerwald Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 No offense to MG, but why is everyone saying they would nominate someone from MG. (Not trying to bash MG) Just seems odd. I guess Im just glad no-one public really has a say in it is what im trying to say
