PoLiX Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 So lemme know how the new settings feel guys. Might add Siege and Fort upgrades when I get some time, but for now, want to see how all the other changes go 1st.
PoLiX Posted April 1, 2007 Author Report Posted April 1, 2007 Actually was probably me, but eh. I reset it again, I forgot to disable attacks for the 1st 48hrs like we did last time. Gives people time to build !@#$%^&* up, and spend their money more wisely. 1 Change I'll note: Super Savings costs 20,000 to create, but 25% interest for every 48hrs
»freakmonger Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 can we expect the reset to happen exactly at midnight everytime? I just wasted 21 trillion points because I didn't get home in time.
PoLiX Posted April 1, 2007 Author Report Posted April 1, 2007 Wasted? Why? All points we're cleared... so how? And no, but this time just all the updates and changes, yeah...
Shock Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 You should seriously do away with Transfer Services; it ruins the game.
Samapico Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 Yeah it kinda does... It would work if it was limited, and/or would cost something, and/or limited to clan members can we expect the reset to happen exactly at midnight everytime? I just wasted 21 trillion points because I didn't get home in time.If by 'wasted' you mean 'could not spend' ... don't worry, I had 800 trillions and had nothing to do with it
Shock Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 Well, like Polix said in a previous post: Being able to do that requires him having extensive knowledge of IPB and the mod and how it works. However, it should be quite easy to turn it off.
Keiver Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 You should seriously do away with Transfer Services; it ruins the game. Or at least limit it a lot. It's re!@#$%^&*ed that someone could have multiple accounts, or friends that transfer all their stuff to them right off the bat. It's too lenient.
Aileron Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 There was another problem we noticed today. There were a couple all-covert accounts, but spies and sentries for some reason do not count towards troop totals. Thus while in reality they had several thousand spies, in the matters of "can someone attack him" they had a ridiculously small number. While it is clear that a player cannot gain rank this way, it should be possible to deal with them. The technique Sama and I developed to combat this is for one person to give most of their troops to the other, carry out the attacks, and then the second person gives the troops back. If transfer services are limited, that would make an all-covert account invincible. If you do change the transfer services, you will have to make spies and sentries count towards the check of if that player is allowed to be attacked.
Samapico Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 invincible maybe, but coverts do not bring income...
Aileron Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 They do. They bring in 500 points per hour. The only thing such an account can't do is rise in the rankings.
PoLiX Posted April 1, 2007 Author Report Posted April 1, 2007 150 per soldier75 per covert50 per merc10 turnsper hour
PoLiX Posted April 1, 2007 Author Report Posted April 1, 2007 You get 8 soldier upgrades per day, but the amount is hugely upgraded. 40 more a day is pretty cheap in the lower numbers, but as it increases, they become a bit pricey. 1000 = 55000 = 1010tho = 1520tho = 2030tho = 2540tho = 3060tho = 3580tho = 40100tho = 45125tho = 50250tho = 55500tho = 60750tho = 651mill = 701.25mill = 752.5mill = 5mill = 857.5mill = 9010mill = 9515mill = 100
Aileron Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 Whoa! 10 turns per hour?!? That's still WAAAY too much! Remember, that means 24 attacks per day. I'd say about 2 per hour, and even that's too much given the number of people playing. Is UP capped by 100 then?
PoLiX Posted April 1, 2007 Author Report Posted April 1, 2007 And for Aileron and gang, the Covert: lvl - cost - Power1 - 20000 - 22 - 40000 - 4 3 - 80000 - 8 4 - 160000 - 16 5 - 320000 - 32 6 - 640000 - 64 7 - 1280000 - 128 8 - 2560000 - 256 9 - 5120000 - 512 10 - 10240000 - 1024
PoLiX Posted April 1, 2007 Author Report Posted April 1, 2007 Whoa! 10 turns per hour?!? That's still WAAAY too much! Remember, that means 24 attacks per day. I'd say about 2 per hour, and even that's too much given the number of people playing. Is UP capped by 100 then? Yes it is capped by 100. I'm waiting to see how the new super savings works out for people. 2 days for 25% of your money added, but the widthdrawl will hurt a bit. Well, I was thinking about doing 5. 12 attacks per day, if full 10 turn attacks. My next step is to work on the arcade points. Maybe have 1 special game per week that is major points, but hard to get.
Aileron Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 I can tell you how the super savings account is going to work out right now. Right now, total points is bounded from above by the function p = 2550 t^2. Where p is the number of points and t is the number of hours. (s = 33 * t, dp/dt = 150 s where s is the number of troops) 33 is the max UP per hour. 150 is the max income per soldier. The hourly interest rate of a super saver account is .25/48 = .5% hourly interest. The value of a bank account follows a standard exponential growth rate and is: a = b e^(.005 * t) where a is the amount of money in the account, b is the amount of points the player invested the account to start with, and e is e. According to some trial and error done on my graphing calculator, the new super saver account requires a 100,000,000 investment in order to "explode" into a ridiculous amount of income. !@#$%^&*uming a player had maxed UP, didn't lose anything to attacks, and saved everything, it would take him 9 days of traditional income to reach that amount. Conclusion: The increase in the UP max and the decrease in the Super Saver account interest will slow down the problem. However, by week two, the same thing will happen as what happened in the last round. People will drop a large amount of points into the super saver account and live off the interest. Suggestion: As long as there is ANY UP cap in place, the explosion of the Super Saver account is inevitable. However, we aren't playing for all eternity, we are playing for a month. There are two possible solutions to this problem: 1) Further reduce or eliminate the interest of the super saver account. However, successfully doing so would make super saver interest trivial. Since income from a capped UP is quadratic and bank account interest is exponential, it is IMPOSSIBLE to balance the two out. 2) Make the UP have no limit. That would make income an exponential function, and then balancing it with the bank interest would be a simple matter.
kloudxero Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 You should seriously do away with Transfer Services; it ruins the game. I agree. This moneth is going to be runied again cause of that.
Samapico Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 What do you mean ruined 'again'? Last month, all the people who got tons of troops and stuff from their buddies didn't even end up in the top ranks...
Aileron Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 Well, technically the third place finisher happened to be held by one of those people. Sama, keep in mind that those outside our clan were really competing for the #3 spot anyway.
Suicide_Run Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 I dont think money transfer should be there....ppl can easily take advantage and ask friends to donate money or so to them right in the beginning of round to gain that slight advantage.

Deathboy-evil Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 I believe one of my friend's tried the gold transfer thing.. he said it didn't work.. anyways PoliX, I say you should add in the fortifications and siege technology upgrades to this one.. it'll make it more fun
