LAN account / logon trouble

I have a LAN account at work. Use to I would get 3 options at login

 

USERNAME

passWORD

LOGON:

 

Now I only get

 

USERNAME

passWORD

 

Somehow the logon got disabled. And the only username that can logon to this computer is xAdministrator (with my old password). It got !@#$%^&*igned to this computer as admin somehow. I worked it so I can connect to the LAN with my CURRENT LAN username/password but I can only log into the computer with xAdministrator / old password. Any idea how to correct this and get the 'logon' back so I can use my CURRENT LAN account?

What you refer as LAN account is known as a Windows domain. You need to have your computer rejoin the domain. (go to Computer properties / Computer Name tab)

Once that's successfully done (which is usually quite the hassle) you will get what you say you want on logging in.

 

If you can't get it to join the domain, contact your local network administrator.

Now just out of curiousity, when my mom tries to access my shared "Network" (!@#$%^&*le of folder and shared folder) folder, she gets a popup asking for a Username and password with a Remember password checkbox. How is it possible to make user logins on my PC for this? I know I can easilly stop that from popping up by setting Sygate Personal Firewall to "Allow All" for the moment being. Seems that on "Normal" it will bring this popup up when someone tries to access one of my network folders, but does not when I have it to "Allow All." Bleh.

Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts

 

Click "Change the Way Users Log on and Off"

 

then uncheck the "Use by Welcome Screen" box
