the terrier: a big fat red ship that isnt really any good at anything aside from tacnuke with lvl3 bouncing shrap.

 

its bigger than a spider and has less energy and recharge than a spider.

 

if you compare it to a weasel it sucks even worse.

 

my suggestion: give it fast bullets like the weasel. it will make people want to play it more.

I agree with you. I have tried several "solutions" in the past, none of which I am particularly pleased with. I have been tweaking different things, however the problem isn't making the terrier "balanced", it's making it "balanced" while, at the same time keeping its role as a "jack of all trades" or superiority fighter.

 

Keep in mind that Hyperspace is constantly growing. I already have ideas underway on an overhaul to fix the terrier (and shark, for that matter :( ), but this will take some time to implement.

Amongst the terr's problems:

 

- Ridiculously long delay after firing a bomb where your guns are non-functional.

- Slow gun velocity

- Poor acceleration

- Poor recharge

- Inferior firing rate

 

It has two roles presently: shredder laming (due to its high energy) and filling a base with L3 plasma cannon and shrap. The spider is better for the former, for the latter you're usually better off with another lanc or something. It's neither a jack-of-all-trades nor an air superiority fighter.

 

Ideas:

 

- Fix the first two problems I listed above

- Increase its base energy beyond the lanc and/or recharge so it can slug it out better. That would enable it to absorb more damage in center or be a tank in base.

I dont think terr is a weak ship at all.....but then again....I use it for shredding ppl in the center =)

 

Death, the long delay happens cause ur bomb has long delay. If ur using a tacnuke, its common sense that u have long delay but it will be shorter if u use falcon or salvo.

 

IMO, terr is a better version of spider but it also cost more so dont expect to spend the same amount of money on a terr and expect it to get same results. You probably just need to play around with the items and make it best suited for wat ever u want to it do.

when i had my terr *sniff sniff*, i used it for centering with the disruptor or shredder. then i changed it to a heavy duty basing ship. it worked in both instances, yet was easily overpowed by two wb's. maybe increase the firing rate or give it more energy. it seems to be fading as a shredder for lances.

 

Also i used to have a tacnuke on it with shredder. the bombdelay usually left the enemy time to kill me. i think the delay is at like 3 or 5 seconds. cut the time in half and it will be used alot more

Terrier is the worst ship besides shark. It needs faster guns, fast as weasels, and i think a huge gun span would make it unique. A spider has better bullets than a terrier, which is sad. Also, a terrier is bigger than a weasel, i dont understand. just a BIT bigger to not fit into a 4x4 box, but a weasel can. Fix would be nice. Edited by Sharpflame

My terrier is the best ship I have, and it's not overpowered by two warbirds, it's just the opposite, when I see 3 warbirds, I just rush into them and kill all three, which is easy because my terrier has high energy, repels, and active camo which means: cloak and stealth!

In center my terrier rocks,

and with the standard bullets(bouncing lvl2 bullets), it's okay in basing too, especially with cloak.

although terrier isnt highly popular, it has a decent niche and i dont believe it should be changed (at least much). Its hands down the best ship for chasing down lose flaggers, in bases its bombing and shrap are superior to most ships, and in center and can still be quite effective. Its somewhat slow speed is counteracted by its energy/rotation. It may not be the "jack of all trades" as it once was, but it still encomp!@#$%^&*es a little of everything.

Maybe you can pwn newb warbirds in one, but against anyone decent in anything else a terr gets owned. The terr presently has two niches: shredder laming and base spamming w/plasma and tacnuke. Even at the latter it's not really as good as other options.

Center it's just a big, red target (literally). I hate when I terr and have to rocket away since it's recharge is really poor, also getting a nice burst of bullets on an enemy only to have them scurry away from the slow bullet speed is very annoying.

 

Basing it can do adequate for defense, but bullet velocity leaves something to be desired. Offensive with a Terrier is a joke other than bomb lining.

 

 

All in all, I suggest upping the recharge rate and bullet speed. Those two are the most major problems with this ship that will benefit it the most if boosted.

I agree with most, the items have a long freeze time, so more items isnt that good, but i agree with everything else.

 

That depends on bomb, if you have a tacnuke, bombdelay = itemdelay. Salvo = item spamming ability

 

And...make it pink? What??
