Since SyrusMX was so fast to move ThunderJams topic to the trash, I guess I'll just start a new topic. The bull!@#$%^&* that has been going around about DS, is just categorized as "e-drama" like "you people" like to say. I've always played and helped out DS whenever I could. I even agreed to give DS advertisements in Halo when I owned it, but only if Vili would move off the server he is currently on right now (SSCC).. he didn't, so that's why I never advertised his zone.

 

The bull!@#$%^&* that has occurred to me recently in DS, I advise you all not to go there. I like the owner (me and him are good friends actually), but his non-listed sysop has made me post this topic in regards to what ThunderJam had initially posted. I was banned for hunting, killing, and making comments to NL (I guess he is Jericho24. alias'd) in and event in DS (2v2).

 

 

Smarties was the host of the event, and I spoke to him after the incident, this is just a short quote from the log I have.

The ?help/?host/?cheater commands are there to help players contact the staff if they have a question or would like something hosted. I guess if you use it two or three times in DS.. the staff (sorry not the staff, the NON listed sysop who does nothing for the zone) get annoyed. I'm sure Jericho24. will post and say I used the commands twenty times a day, but thats not true.

I guess Jericho24. doesn't want the extra "green" message that pops up when a help or host command is used. He could ignore it since he doesn't do anything anyways (he did ignore the questions anyways.. or didn't know the answer). I spoke to Viligante on MSN, and he told me just to message either him, Witchie, or Killerbot if I had a question (all senior staff). This way I guess it won't disturb Jeri's peaceful spec time. I thought ?help/?help/?host were there to benifit the players, to allow them to reach staff easily. I used ?host when it was nearing the end of the flag game, and I wanted to play an event (thats the only reason I go to DS), and once I had a question about the league so I used ?help. Last time I checked, you are able to remove help, host, cheater from the server.ini.

 

The two most active mods (I think DS only has 3 or 4) both believe I did nothing wrong. I received no warnings from Jericho24. about what I was doing (what was I doing again?). I only spoke to Viligante on MSN, and we cleared up the "abuse" of the ?help?cheater?host !@#$%^&*. So basically, it's just that Jericho didn't like me hunting him, and making comments such as "ez" when I killed him. I believe there are "DS staff rules" which death?to?all posted, but thanks to the administrator who moved that post, you'll have to go to the trash section to view them. I remember reading that what Jericho24. did broke the rules.

 

Heres just another log from their staff chat I find amusing (Untrace = Viligante, SiliverKiller = staff in DS)

Anyways.. Im not crying to play in DS again. Im just warning you about the non listed sysop of the zone, and how the zone owner lets it all slide. This isn't a rare occasion either, this has happened to several people.. including ThunderJam, death?to?all, and Suicide Run. ThunderJam was banned for offering to help the zone dev wise, and want things to go back to how the were (turf and balling). death?to?all was fired and banned for sharing something Jericho24. had said about me in staff chat to me, then giving Viligante at!@#$%^&*ude (I believe Vili asked death?to?all why he's acting like this, and he replied with "why do you think I'm acting like this?". Sure, fire him.. ban him aswell.. sounds like Agurus were talking about now (mabye they are brothers..?)

 

Anyways, I'd rather this not turn into a flaming topic. I just want you to be aware of the bull !@#$%^&* that happens in that quiet zone with 15+ bots. As I said, I'm not crying to be able to play in there again. The best thing you can do if you hate how the zone is ran, don't go there.. simply as that. I like how Confess+ put it, we give them their power. If you don't go there, they won't have any power to abuse with.

If they findsome1 disagreeing with them (staff) then they shut them up, they probally ban more people in that zone than anyother zone...

Thats not true. Im not trying to say everyone in DS is corrupt and evil. There are several people (Killerbot NL, Witchie NL, and Dav1) that benifit the subspace community. This is more of a post towards Jericho24. then anyone else in DS.

Ok 1st things 1st.

 

Can someone tell me what TJs topic said? not entirely sure what half of this stuff is all about without seeing that detail.

 

Also we have a ban contest forum for a reason, its so I as bang admin can look into these things and try to prevent the bull!@#$%^&* of last time by resolving issues before they spiral out of control... Thanks for undermining that and sending things down this road again.

 

With regards to banning for a little flaming. One thing I've tried to sort out is banning by some staff for "disrespecting them" we have a rule that basically said "you are expected to take as much crap as any other player" If this was put in our ban contest forum I would have looked into it properly without any of the controversy that doing this this way brings.

 

As it stands there isn't much i can do now because I have no details of the cir!@#$%^&*stances and such. Ill look through logs tomorrow and see what i can find. Can you ?message me date and time this happened to make it easier for me to find?

News flash, a zone may ban whomever they want for whatever reason they want. A zone owner and his sysops don't have to put up with blatent stupidity if they don't want to and knowing you Beefie I am sure you were being extremely annoying.

I think if it was somone with more respect that acted proper and wasnt a !@#$%^&* stain to the community I would actually care. But seeing how this is over somone who is already network banned and who i know causes issues. It leaves little to no credibility of the poster.

Then again if this person wasnt the !@#$%^&*hat that we already know him to be this issue prob wouldnt of happened in the first place.

 

Some of DS banning policys in the past have been absurd and there was several occasions when i was going to drop the zone do to moral disagreements However they have improved much over the past couple of months. And as much as you all may hate it Banning people from thier zone is not abuse of any rules stipulated anywhere Network banning... Now thats a little different.

DS did have a shady banning policy going on about 2 years ago, but they have seemed to correct that recently. Lets hope they keep it this way. It was a lot worse back then.

 

But as far as SS-Drama, I will give that award to Halo

As far as this ban goes i cant help but wonder where the complaint lies.

 

You have a net ban so to be able to play anywhere is a privilage not a right, You generally get a ban free if a zone owner or its higher staff like you enough so it tends to be a good idea to suck up a bit and not step slightly out of line otherwise they will just withdraw it and make you suffer your ban like everyone else.

 

IMHO the removal of a ban free shouldn't be to do with normal zone banning rules, in all honesty you shoulnt be logged into the SSC biller with a net ban.

 

You may have an issue with Jericho but you should take it up with him rather then jumping on the popular DS bashing bandwagon.

exactly what Dav said. When you are on a Banfree for a zone you should "walk on egg sASSS" when in that zone because it doesn't take much for someone to remove your banfree.
