Today around 7:00 EST I\/Ir Beefie was in desert storm about to play a event of 2v2. Before the match him and a player "NL" apparently exchanged compe!@#$%^&*ive smack talk "ill own you," "we'll see in game !@#$%^&*". Whatever. Once it starts Beefie hunts NL for 3-5 kills, including the final (9th kill) that gets NL specced. Beef said "ez" wen he killed, and said something like "enjoy spec !@#$%^&*er" when he eliminated NL. Annoying compe!@#$%^&*iveness, commonplace. 10 seconds later Jericho24. enters the arena, Jericho turns out to be NL, and he proceedes to ban beefie. 1) Jericho24. is no where listed as staff in ds, altho he has sysop powers and high level bang and obviously bans whoever he wants (this crap has come up again and again in ds).2) How could beef know NL was jeri? Jeri can talk smack to beef under alias, but beef cant talk back to a seemingly normal every-day player?3) Nothing would have been done if this was any other player, would be dismissed as noobs !@#$%^&*ing at each other.4) Jeri wanted to ban beefie a few days ago for something else, a ds staffer death?to?all stood up for beef saying he should not be banned. Death?to?all is now fired and banned Viligante the zone owner (once lived with jeri) is defending jeri about this whole thing.One of the lower ds staffers pm'ed beefie cross-zone right after the incident telling him that what jeri did was totally wrong and messed up. I dont wanna mention who this was because id rather not him get fired like death?to?all. <_< This is like, what, the third major abuse problem brought up about ds in a month or so? Chambahs Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 I know all of these problems first hand, since I too used to be HSysop of DS in the SSZ days and I am also a victim. Jeri used to constantly pm spam the word "!@#$%^&*" to me about everyday for no reason. Once I quit my sysop position, I was then banned locally and netbanned from ssz, and got one of my first dev zone for Unreal Tournament taken off. Vili is a biased zone owner and everyone knows this. Jeri is also an abusing/arrogant person. I am still (after I believe a couple years now) perm silenced in DS, I go in there to check up on the zone from time to time. But all in all, people will never change, everyone says how bad DS is, but everyone continues going there. I say, if you dont like DS, dont go there, nobody is forcing you. If you are looking for a replacement gameplay-type zone, come to SSCC Unreal Tournament, where everything is better. Gameplay/Staff/Gfx/Settings. Everyone knows DS sucks/and is abusive, dont go there, come to where your presence will be acknowledged and appreciated!

I'm not really sure why I'm even posting this but I'm going to anyways just so the players can see what happened. If you haven't already been told, I've been axed off staff and banned... I wish I had logs, but I'm sure vili can post some. (Well, maybe.) But anywho it started because I said in spec chat who wants to go to ut ( Unreal Tourny ) I admit, that was pretty dumb of me to say, after that, I run out to help my mom with bringing things in from the car. Vili left me a ?message complaining about me for not saying bye, but as I told him, if he knows my mom he'd know I don't really have time to do anything on the computer when she calls me. After than he accussed my of double clienting ( asin playing other zones after just being yelled at for it.) He accused me because I was talking about how I had to go to my options to turn off the sound, even though it has always been !@#$%^&*'d up. I believe the rest of that issue was me saying "Yay for trusting your, points for Untrace." Than a whole bunch of sarcasm happened. Anywho on with what happened. He asked me why I was acting like I was, and I said "Why? Why should I tell my online buddies about what's going on in my life" and he started telling my why I shouldn't anwser a question with a question, and than he said something, and I made a sarcastic remark to it, and ended with me being axed. Okay, I'm fine, I guess sarcasm leads to being fired. Than I tried to log back on, and I was banned... I almost laughed. How predictable of ye ol' Vili? Well, that's about it. I'm sure this won't be discussed here because Vili will end up locking it, or even deleting it. Oh, and Vili, if you're going to pin anything on me in this thread, post the logs... ( Uneditted would be nice )Oh, and I found out I wasn't banned, I was spec locked and silenced. As to what happened to beefie, there was a rule with staff that told that if you were being called har!@#$%^&*ed you cannot switch aliases to take action on that player ( I know this being the former staff member ) Personally, it's funny you never really realise the injustice untill you experience it first hand. I know we can't make you stop playing ds but we'd like to inform you of the hidden rules of desert storm. There are two main rules you should follow, all other rules are unimportant:1. And, yeah, I can second that DS has been doing a lot of abusing of bans since they first got SSC. Bans shouldn't be dealt if the issue is personal - only if the player is breaking the zone rules...

Beefie is NETBANNED, he was privelidged by way of a banfree.But since he is nothing but a pain in the !@#$%^&*, banfree revoked. and what a suprise its always the same group of idiots, nothin better to do than stir !@#$%^&*?

In this zone staff members have full authority to trash talk and provoke players into bans. I have been banned numerous times for questioning their authority and motives. In most cases the staff member is wrong and the player is banned/specced/silenced for telling them that. I think it's pathetic that there are players who wont speak up because they are afraid of being banned. The sad part is there will probably be bannings because of this topic on this forum. DS=DRAMA. Also, dta = death?to?all the guy i said was fired and banned for defending beef a few days ago. Turns out they lifted his ban shortly afterwards and changed it to a long spec/silence Now that dta has stood up on here, Jeri has promptly talked to dta again, and re-banned him about 45 minutes ago. What their doing sickens me and i don understand how people can go back into DS knowing this topic exist. As for me i have had enough of this, action should be taken...
