I upgraded to Vista recently.. and I saved my Continuum folder. However, I've run into a few problems. I put macro.dat, macro.bak, profile.dat, profile.bak, keyboard.dat, and keyboard.bak in my current Continuum folder. Now, when I open the .dat in Notepad, it seems fine.. All of my stuff is there.. but when I go into Continuum, it doesn't load them.

Any possible causes of this?

Keep in mind, it happens with the profiles and key defs, too.

Thanks.

make sure they are in the same folder and same cont that you are launching from. close cont completely and then reload it or maybe restart if you put it in while it was open. i don't think it has anything to do with vista imo.

try adding the extension .dat to the macro file... it looks like there is not extension for that file

so in computer terms... your file is simply called:

macro.file

Nah, look to the right of it.

holy !@#$%^&*... that was fast..

EDIT: OH

Haha, yeah. I just clicked refresh and saw a new post. blum.gif

Anyways, I just reinstalled and tried only transferring the .dat files to the folder (after deleting the originals) .. No luck.

I'm curious to see what happens when I try to create a macro set.. I wonder if it will overwrite the ones I'm trying to load?

Time for some trial and error!

Still, if anyone has any ideas, post them, please!

Ok, this is just COMPLETELY weird.

I left my macros in the Continuum folder, and then loaded up Continuum and made two test macro sets and ?savemacro'd them. I exited the client, reopened it, and they were still there.. So, I goto my macro.dat file and look to see if they're listed in it.. and they're not even there! Just the ones I had saved from my other computer are there.

SO, I deleted macro.bak and macro.dat from the Continuum folder and restarted Continuum. I went to my macro screen, and what do you know! The test macros are there! How?! I deleted both the macro.dat and macro.bak files.

Uninstall Vista and throw it as far as you can. Any version!

Vista was a suicide move for microsoft! I know this for sure as I beta tested it from start to end and used to be a supervisor at MS.

XP will be the last great OS you will see out of them!
