You're not very helpful as you don't provide much information.

1. What version of windows are you running? 98/98SE/2000/ME/XP/Vista/etc.?

2. How is SubSpace screwed up? Does it load at all? Do you get an error message?

3. Is the main screen messed up? Or is it just in-game?

4. If in-game, have you tried playing around with Continuum's Advanced Options?

5. Are you using a color depth (in options -> graphics) of 8bit, 16bit, or 32bit?

6. What resolution have you set it to?

7. Are you running any other programs while playing Continuum?

8. When installing Continuum 0.39pr1, did you install it in the same folder as Continuum 0.38 (which you should)?

There's also stickied facts in this forum you could read, but more info would be appreciated if you want someone to help you.

I've just built an Nvidia SLI system and I think I am having the same issue. When trying to download the Alpha map, it looked like the graphics would stick on the screen (everything would leave trails) and when I got into the game, I couldn't quit. I ended up doing a hard reset on my machine and uninstalling Continuum. I play this game often and would love to see if there is anything that can be done to resolve the issue.

Major components:

Motherboard - Nvidia EVGA nForce 680i

Processor - Intel Conroe Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4GHz

Graphics - 2x Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS

RAM - 2x 1GB DDR2

Sound - Creative SoundBlaster Audigy 4

Prior to this computer, I was using an HP Pavilion with an ATI X1600 Pro graphics card with no problems. This is the very first computer I've seen not able to run Subspace.

1st thing I'd like you to check/try...

View > Advanced Options

Make sure: Avoid Page Flipping, No Framerate Limit, and Disable Clipping are checked.

I've heard alot of people with GeForce 8800 having problems...

see http://forums.sscentral.com/index.php?showtopic=12955

and http://forums.sscentral.com/index.php?showtopic=12991

3 other people in these threads... no solutions still though, if you ever get it to work, please tell us, cause it seems to be a common problem with that card

I Have the exact same issue with a 8800 GTS the only way i can play is if i enable "software mode" which makes the cpu do all the work which is fine on my coreduo@3.2 smile.gif

bit pissed i cant get the gfx card to run it though

I also got this issue. Running with software emulation works - but is hardly a good option.

So far I've tried the following with no result:

Setting "Max frames to render ahead to 0"

Flipping all the options in Nvidia's Control panel.

Forceware 100.95 for winxp (for 8600 evga cards) with "hacked" .inf file from Guru3d to add 8800 support.

Flipping all the Continuum video options.

Nada works.

Does continuum use Directdraw? Think to remember SubSpace did.

Oh - and I also tried lowering Hardware Acceleration step by step from Full and downwards.

andddddd....I've tried running it in Compatibility mode for win2000 etc. No joy.

That's on the 32 bit version of Windows XP. Game ran fine with my 7800GT.

Running latest Directx, tested with both 97.92 & 100.95 nvidia drivers.

Running at 1920x1200@60hz. Tested at both 8 bit, and 32 bit colors. No difference.

Graphics look like this with software emulation turned off:

Windowed:

Full-screen:

Computer hardlocks for me. Others report this to be the graphics:

Same problem here... same video card. Running in windowed mode is a big improvement, but the chat/menu is a garbled mess.

Hope there's a solution soon... I miss this game.

Zombie exactly the same as me nothing i did fixed the issue. playing software mode is the only way.
